"This is my second visit to the Sydney Waterfront Inn and Suites. This time we had the city view with a nice veranda to watch the world drift by from our upstairs vantage point. The room and amenities were excellent. The whirl pool tub was so refreshing, what a great feature!! The electric fireplace added some nice ambiance after a long day of seeing the sites. The desk staff and the housekeeping staff are a true asset to the hotel.Close to a bakery, several great restaurants and the awesome seashore it hits all the bells . We'll be back next year for our third visit and hopefully book the ocean side veranda room . I believe the daily rate to be indicative of a five star establishment. Cheers to the staff and owners !! "It was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. I sent the hotel a message and I’m still waiting to hear back from someone. I also waited there over 5 minutes to let them know about my room and issues and no one came so I packed all my stuff and waited more and no one showed up so I just dropped my keys off "

"Pros: clean, comfy bed, good pub restaurant and coffee on site, easy parking, fridge and microwave, nice river view, very friendly staff Cons: front desk/help is only open 9-5, our room keys needed recoding daily for some reason and since front office was closed by 5 it was a rigmarole trying to get the keys updated through the bar staff, the dock in the photos was locked shut so you couldn’t actually go on it, the ice machine room was locked all the time, air con didn’t work so room was always too hot and opening the windows to sleep was too noisy as the pub parking lot was below us with late night cajoling, we were in an adjoining room and could clearly hear the conversation in the adjacent room next door through the door even though they were speaking a normal volume."

"There were bloodstains on my sheets and pillow case. Obviously, the sheet and pillowcase and not been changed by the hotel staff.I complained to staff and was told the manger would contact me. It has been a week and nobody has contacted me."

"Check in was extremely fast and easy. Loved the location, water across the way and Cowichan Bay market. They were in the process of renovating the property but it had no effect on our stay. We booked the King suite, newly renovated, and loved the size and amenities. Full fridge, hot plate, fully supplied kitchen, a living room area with 4 chairs, and small balcony with 2 chairs. I would definitely book there again."

"Was so pleasantly surprised by our stay here. Great facilities with the gym and pool, really lovely and friendly staff, decent breakfast, clean room looking into the trees was perfect for our family of 4."

"The property was over priced for what it is , I had called the hotel to ask about adjusting dates due to a family emergency and the front desk person stated she would contact the manager and get back to me but I never heard anything and no mention at check in either ……. The hotel is okay but I would expect better at the rate they charge , they did however give a water bottle at check in but I’d preferred they keep the gift and charge appropriately………"
