"I've stayed at quite a few of the nicest hotels in Colombo over the past few years, both with my family and alone, and I'm really pleased I tried ITC this year. It's probably now my joint favourite alongside the Hilton Colombo Residences. It is superior to the Shangri-La (where the rooms are shoeboxes and the feeling is sterile) and Mt Lavinia (which seems too obsequious to a colonial past!). The lobby area is great and I felt like spending a lot of time there. The vibe feels more high end Sri Lankan than East Asian. My only pedantic suggestions are as follows: 1) Please change the elevator music. It is far too uptempo. You need something more sedate, not swing music. 2) Please include more vegan food on the breakfast and dinner menus I loved the smell of the hallways too. I saw the airmate devices and wanted to get a few myself, they were so good."

"This is the third time we have stayed here, and it is in a prime location. The staff are very helpful, prompt room service and spacious apartments. The only concern this time was there was quite a lot of building works during the daytime, which made it very noisy, including pneumatic drilling. We weren't informed about this, and also the sports centre was closed for two days for renovation. Again, neither was this informed beforehand, and should have been taken into consideration and advised at check-in, and appropriate arrangements made, and possibly a part refund."
