"I stayed at this hotel for three nights and had a pleasant stay. The room was clean and tidy. Although there isn’t any air conditioning, there is a fan. I didn’t miss having air conditioning, as the room didn’t get too hot, even though I was staying on the top floor. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. "The hotel is extremely well situated right on the front and close to the pier. It is currently undergoing some much-needed maintenance, leading to some unwelcome building noise and obstructions. There were a number of issues with our room, including a shower which would not drain properly, and dodgy wifi, leading also to problems with the TV. "It was very shabby and it smelt bad. It is conveniently situated for the centre of Clacton but it was very noisy and so I didn't sleep well. There was very little space in the bathroom. They don't do breakfasts so I had to schlep round town in the heat trying to find somewhere. On a positive note the gentleman was very friendly and welcoming when I checked in."

"Bathroom was lovely and modern but could do with a better shower, like a rainfall head. Breakfast buffet was not replenished quickly, partner gave up waiting for beans and the Natural/Greek yogurt was absent. Strangely there was too much ham on the eggs benedict, which made the dish cold quickly. Could also do with being extended. 9.30zm finish is too early for someone enjoying a night away from home. "Lovely old property on the edge of town. Front Desk staff on arrival were OK but not hugely communicative (morning team were much better). Same with the bar staff although the prices were pretty good. The room was old but clean and tidy. And HOT, although we were in a UK heatwave at the time. They do provide a fan which helped a bit. Overall a decent place to stay and would stay again if passing by that way again."
