"Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Stag. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and the room was well appointed and comfortable. Our only concern was the presence of black mould in the shower and around the bathroom window. The amount and odour were noticeable, and while it was clear that cleaning products had been used, the area would benefit from some maintenance and remediation. Parking was also a bit challenging to find. Google Maps was not particularly helpful, so we recommend following the written directions provided by the property and driving slowly through the area. That said, we took it as part of the adventure of exploring such a charming historic town. Despite these minor issues, we had an enjoyable stay and would happily return."

"What a great stay, lovely staff day and night (especially the chap who put LOADS of ice in our ice bucket when we bought a bottle of wine and gave us extra tea and milk for the morning!) breakfast was excellent and the room was great and very clean. Good location opposite the Brewery Quarter"

"Parking available at £10 per night The room and breakfast were fine. Bathroom design is very snug. More staff are needed but the staff there are very helpful and hard-working. I’ve started there are a few times for the different festivals. It’s a perfect location."
