We absolutely loved our stay at Verdelago and would happily return. The resort is beautiful, the staff were wonderful throughout, and the restaurant team in particular were fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and really made the stay feel special. Honestly, the only things missing for us were a spa and a heated pool. Add those and it would be pretty much perfect! We had such a lovely time and would definitely stay again.

We had an amazing week here, as a family of six. Beautiful place, kind staff, great breakfast and good food. Perhaps need more time to set all the details to score 10/10 as the resort is quite new and still under development (nothing that disturbed us). But all-in-all, a place to come back to.

Excellent location, surroundings, amazing resort concept. Beautiful design blended with natural elements with lots of respect for the environment. Pine woods, sand dunes, natural vegetation all beautifully preserved and integrated. The beach itself is excellent. Proper deep sand, very clean water, very flat, excellent for children. The food in both restaurants including the beach club was very high quality.

This is a wonderful hotel if you’re looking for a family vacation with lots of activities. Not for couples at all though which I wish we knew. Gym is so small and you need to register a time. Food is extremely limited which was surprising so we left a lot. We could never get into the events because they were booked a day before and capped at 6 people meanwhile resort was 50% full. Front desk staff were clueless and not helpful at all. The units were amazing and clean so we loved that and super modern. Sauna steam room area was great too! Bring mosquito repellent! All in all it was ok but wouldn’t make a trek for it.

Verdelago is literally heaven on earth! We travel often and we generally stay at higher end places, so we are quite spoiled, but this resort is probably the nicest we have ever stayed at. The decor is beautiful and the natural setting is absolutely gorgeous. The beach is incredible and you can lounge on a fancy beach bed or chair, which is included. The food at the pool bar is quite good. We ate at the restaurant for dinner one evening and the food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. We were there for 4 days during the 3rd week of June, so it was not quite peak season. The resort was fairly quiet, especially for the first part of the week (which we enjoyed). It will likely get busier as time goes on since they are currently building an additional area (which is scheduled to open in 2028). This was our first trip to Portugal (and the Algarve region) and we are already planning a trip back!

A very special place in Portugal

Wow! What a truly amazing place to stay! Sure the resort is, in places, still being constructed but, unless you’re very picky, you really wouldn’t notice. And it’s such a lovely lovely place to visit - thoroughly recommended and we will be back! Gorgeous location and soooo quiet. We asked and the resort was 40% full but you’d never notice and we pretty much had the pool and sunloungers to ourselves each day. Spotlessly clean, although watch out, housekeeping comes real early, like 8:30 a.m. Beautiful beaches and lots of places to visit by Uber which is real cheap. We walked to Monte Gordo then got an Uber to Castro Marim castle. Then on another day an Uber to Tavira which is well worth a day trip. What makes Verdelago so special, the staff. Everyone is so lovely. Greeting at breakfast is superb and you get a tour of what’s on offer, pretty much all the produce is local. Great wine list for lunch and dinner, also local. Special shout out to Benjamin who always stopped and offered a lift around the resort. He’s a real gentleman and a pleasure to meet. Want a quiet trip near a great beach with amazing service! We’d go back at the drop of a hat!

Great Resort and Food.

Verdelago is a great 5-star resort in the Algarve, away from tourists and tourist traps. It is a vast resort with many things to do. However, potential guests should be aware it is not fully-open. The resort is under construction even though you would not really notice it. They have done a fabulous and mindful job in protected guests from this. It is a new resort and they are taking guests whilst still working on the other parts. There is also a possibility your stay may encounter some snags. Hot water may run out, or a certain bathroom may not be working 100%. But the staff is the most attentive I have seen in Europe. They are professional, kind, responsive and ever-so accommodating to anything you may need. They are being trained well and that is what sets this place apart. Currently, as of this review date, they are 2 pools available and a beach. The Beach Bar is still being completed (days away I am told) and will be a great addition to those wanting to hang out on the beautiful beach. Every area of this resort is super-clean (it is new!). The food is delicious. The prices are in-line with what you would expect for a 5-star resort but the quality is definitely there. We observed a very active kids club as well. The resort is also super pet friendly. Such a great thing to so if you like pets. Enough parking for everyone, electric car charging for free, free bikes to hop on and off throughout the resort, and very secure resort. Staff are 100% 5-star.
