"We love it at this hotel, but I didn’t give it 5 stars this time because it smelled musty in the lobby and in our room, and our bathroom was where I could smell it the worst. Last time we stayed, we were given an upstairs room but this time we were downstairs very near the lobby. I figured it was from the weather and being so close to the beach. We also had trouble with the refrigerator in our room and we lost some of our perishable food the first night. It didn’t stay as cold as it should have and I did not trust it for the lunch meats or eggs, they smelled off so I had to throw them out. We still ate our cheese though and it seemed ok. We ate out the whole weekend but we had brought some food for lunches and snacks. It was not the fault of the hotel and I didn’t want to seem like a complainer, plus I figured the hotel was sold out and we probably wouldn’t be able to switch rooms, so I mentioned it all at checkout, The front desk made note of it and they said they would look into both issues. Overall however, the stay was wonderful as usual and the staff were great, especially the evening staff. Parking is awesome, there is a free garage, and the location can’t be beat. We love the property, the pools, hot tub, fire pits, and cabana with everything we need for the beach. It’s a great family place and there is always the sound of babies and small children, which makes you smile. We will stay again for sure, but we will request a room upstairs or not near the lobby next time."
