Walking distance to free shuttle bus taking tourists all over Grand Canyon
Adjacent to dining and grocery store
Clean but basic rooms
Very convenient free parking
Quiet surroundings
Cons:
Old dated rooms
Carpets worn and need changing
Very small bathroom
Very little storage"
"No parking anywhere!! Driving in circle trying to find a parking spot for almost 20 minutes! No staff at Thunderbird Lodge at all. You have to check two hotels over. Then all of the roads are one way you have to go around the huge loop to get back to Thunderbird after you’ve checked in.no signs to rooms. Tv didn’t work. Horrible experience"
"The dining room and lounge were closed when we were there, which was disappointing - “seasonal hours”. That was not communicated prior to our arrival."
"The location was very convenient for going to the Grand Canyon. The small facilities for breakfast were extremely crowded and the food was very subpar. The only hot food for breakfast was oatmeal. Our room had a strange odor which permeated our clothing and luggage, which traveled home with us. The entire hotel looked quite dated and dark and long overdue for an update. We drove around the parking lot several times in the evening looking for an available parking space."
"We stayed for 3 nights celebrating my birthday and our wedding anniversary. Our lodge was absolutely perfect, we actually wish we’d booked to stay longer! The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough to make our stay special. The shuttle bus to the village and Hermits Rest are only 5 minutes away, and having the Bright Angel Trail on our doorstep was truly awesome! We ate breakfast at Harvey House cafe which served huge portions and great coffee. We can’t recommend Bright Angel Lodges enough we loved it!"
