Our first room was musty smelling as if it had been under water . But the staff was fantastic and upgraded our room . I know they are dealing with flooding issues . Great job by the staff

Unique! You are right above the waves crashing all day long! Then miles of open beachfront to walk, look for shells, just enjoy. Jamie at the front desk is warm and friendly and so determined to make sure you have an awesome experience. The property has the gorgeous weathered wood so typically Outer Banks.

Our ocean side room was so close to the ocean we moved our car when a storm came in. Perfect location if you want by the sea. An older but nice place to stay

The property was beautiful and staff was great. The room was very nice and view of the ocean to die for. The parking was a real issue for us, we got stuck both times we pulled in and out of the property. Hopefully the property owners will invest in something to clear the sand that blows in.

The floor in our room was gritty with sand. It had not been cleaned adequately. Check in was fine. The staff were very friendly. I loved being in a motel on the beach.

Old Cape Hatteras

Sand everywhere, but not really the fault of the hotel.. It is in a sand dune. Parking limited. Room not fresh, decorative pillows on bed smelly. One sink in bathroom, no storage except corner shelf on back wall. Shower curtain dirty, faucet dripping, moldy caulking. No network TV, Roku streaming only. Nice to set on porch and watch the waves. Great access to wide open beach with many shells.

The location is good, easy access to the beach and restaurants. The place is rundown, needs upgrades, bed covers were stained, very limited kitchenware. This time I stayed on the pool side and did not like it but previously I stayed oceanside and the those rooms are way nicer and more equipped. Also you cant beat the view so its worth to spend extra for oceanside rooms. I'd give oceanside rooms are 4-5 stars, pool side 2-3 stars.

We had a seaside view and it was spectacular. The rooms are spacious, clean, good location, and the staff were accommodating and friendly. We'd definitely choose the Cape Hatteras Motel again.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!! That's the reason I love this place. The rooms are dated and in need of serious updates including bedding and linens. I love sitting in the rocking chairs and listening to the waves! It's amazing!!

The Cape Hatteras Motel conveys all of what OBX is! A true getaway! Incredible Oceanfront location. Woke up to an exquisite Sunrise. Rocking Chairs on the porch. All the amenities were present - very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Oh, and the ice machine was the best!

Family of 4 with two young kids arrived at 6 air condition in room was not working. At 9:30 air condition still had not been repaired, Had to ask for another room. Rooms were very outdated, broken and missing blinds, broken tiles, leaking shower. Rooms are only a few feet from the ocean which is pretty cool, but keeping sand out of the room is gonna be impossible.
