We celebrated our Golden Wedding here so we could be near our close family in Bristol.
At check-in we were given a Privilege Room which was very well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast every day was excellent - served as a buffet but fresh ingredients regularly supplied. We had a dinner for two and a family lunch both of which were excellent with freshly cooked ingredients and the ability to deal with special diets. The building itself is extremely spacious and capable of hosting large events. There were several events taking place during our stay - a Prom, a Wedding, a Birthday Party. The hotel staff were able to deal with the large gatherings and also take care of our requirements.
This is the kind of hotel that had its heyday in the 1980s and though it has obviously been refurbished since there were signs of parts of the building needing ongoing maintenance. This is not surprising for a building on this scale and it not detract from our stay. But we like the kind of places that concentrate on comfort and service and all in all we were delighted with our Golden Wedding celebration. Thanks to all the staff.

Set in beautiful grounds, good hearty breakfast clean bedding and towels. Hotel is a lovely old place and would benefit from a slight redecorate. Carpets need to be cleaned at the edges if this was done then 5 star from me. I will stay again next time I am in the area. Good night's sleep on very comfy beds

So i spoke to the management because the privilege room pictures you guys had up are completely different from the actual rooms
Breakfast was best part of stay. Rooms tired. Bar Staff and Reception staff very poor. When checked in was promised free drink. QR code didnt work and staff attitude was almost tough luck. Would rather not have been offered a drink.
Property outdated with old furniture. Lack of plugs and no plugs next to bedside. Bed was comfortable and large. Due to warm night could not open window more than a couple of inches and no AC but did have a fan. Dinner was poor, not worth the money and new menu options not like the photos! No lifts either as issue for me as struggle with steps due to disability. Staff friendly

The place is nice but itās old build for me the room was great!
The breakfast was great as well!
We were very disappointed in our stay. We arrived and the steps to the car park are broken so you step on it and nearly fall backwards, then we got to our room , initially looked ok, dated but spacious, the room has the heating on full blast and was like a sauna so we turned the radiator off and opened the window, the window was broken and didnr stay open so we had to use our bin to wedge it open. The bath had hairs in it and lots of mould. The TV didn't work nor did the remote eventually reception sorted that for us. One of the twin beds mattress was broken and on a slant so felt like I was going to roll out of it all night. We didn't get any sleep as the soft door close near our room definitely wasn't soft close and slammed every few mins people went through it. The gutter has a leak and as it rained all night it sounded like ait was leaking in to our room. The driveway on the hotel grounds was full of very bad potholes so much so the taxi said people avoid pick ups there due to it. Was just very disappointing. I've emailed and called but no answer after nearly two weeks of trying

The radiator in our room 402 was faulty and we could not turn the heating down. It was so hot in the room that we asked to be moved in the night and we moved to room 406. The radiator in this room didn't produce any heat at all and there was a plug in radiator as a a substitute. this was OK for us but shows that some work is needed at the hotel to rectify an ancient heating system.
The 2 ladies on staff were excellent. I proved late (2130) and checked in ok but could not order food (Iād been travelling for 6hrs) I ordered from the room service menu - a sandwich - which I had to collect from the bar as no one was free to deliver to me yet I was still charged a tray charge. Also - it did not come with the extras promised - just a cheese sandwich on a plate. No mirrors in the room only the bathroom. No toast offered at breakfast. I travel a lot for work and For a hotel that looks really nice - it falls short.

The room was awful photos attached!
The hotel is dirty outside, cigarette butt's, broken glasses and vomit on the steps.
The bed had no duvet inside the cover it was a mattress topper! Very uncomfortable.
The bathroom had had work which was unfinished.
