The room was very nice it had a comfy bed hair drier fan kettle tea and coffee a microwave iron and ironing board the shower was ok and nice clean fluffy white towels as I was on my own I felt safe staying there the owner was very nice and friendly I've also stayed at the quayside hotel prefer this one over that
The staff greeted me professionally and friendly too making me feel very welcome. The room had fantastic views and the shower was fantastic and the tea/ coffee was good quality ie PG tips/Nescafé. Microwave was a real bonus. Only thing you need to do is pay attention to the warn out flooring and a small whole on grey blind. Will always stay there as great staff, fantastic rooms and excellent value for Money.
Fantastic location. Room itself is starting to show signs of wear, which is unusual for the brand, but was kitted out very nicely and very clean. Comfy bed :-)
The room wasnt the cleanest and this is the most expensiveroom there, black mold on the grout/sealant around shower. Two chips out of the sink. Cracked floor tile held together with sellotape.
It stayes the rooms are soundproof, i can assure your they are definitely not.
Especially when its that loud, tou can feel the bed vibrate.
Guests are told that you must be quiet and respect the neighbours, completely different story if you are in the bar.
Peoples washing on the radiator in the hallway.
This place is definitely all aboaut the bar (which is spotless, unlike the rooms) and definitely not about the hotel.
Its a shame as i was really looking forward to staying here. But definitely dont stay here if you are visting for work. I couldnt get any done at all.
Wifi is awful, just using 4g was better.
Could only get a couple of channels working on the tv (check youtube in room 11) a lot of stuff is in a different language so wasnt able to use.
I was on the top floor and every night stunk of cigarettes as if people were smoking inside or next to open doors.
Quick and easy check-in. Room was at very top up 2 flights of steps. The room was quite large with nice new en-suite toilet, sink and eletric shower. The bed was supposed to be a queen but looked like a double but it was very comfortable. The rate was reasonable. Its a pity the advert didn't mention the cheap parking at the old courthouse nearby. There was loud music from the bar at night although it didn't matter to us as we had been to a gig at the nearby gliderdrome. It was very clean.
In its raw form this is a hotel, however in the modern form me this is more a student flat than a hotel. Rooms are clean and basic, there’s a shared kitchen and two shared shower rooms which serve a purpose but otherwise that’s it.
My welcome in the pub (two doors down) was fine and helpful but otherwise I was left alone in a shared house.
There’s no staff as such, I stayed most of the working week but no room cleaning or service and yet it was helpful to have a share of the kitchen and bathroom.
It’s just very basic.
Parking is in open land nearby and costs £4 per night.
The room was very nice clean it had a fan iron and tea and coffee microwave and kettle the bar is very nice and lovely wine also owner very nice and friendly being an older woman on my own I felt very safe also there is a balcony area so sat outside for a while early evening
The shower did not turn on, went downstairs and the staff said the kitchen had used all the water and I needed to wait until it refilled.
Waited and waited went back down a few more times and still nothing. Finally around midnight I was able to shower. I had stressed to the staff I needed to be up for 6am as I had a long drive home as well, they did not seem too bothered. If ot is a known issue that the water runs out then they shouldnt have guests staying while running a kitchen. When I book a hotel I have the expectation that I will end my day away with a hot shower before bed. If you arent bothered about showers then tbis is your place, otherwise I'd go elsewhere.
A fine place, was warned about noise especially at weekend. Was in room beside door, people returned 4 am, but there was no bother mo unreasonable noise. Comfortable.
It was a last minute booking. Wow never again. Noisy. Fire doors banging when people went through. Ratting bedroom walls. Flooring creaking all the time. Noise from beer garden very loud. Room bed
Different experience traveling from the US- shared bathroom, check-in at the bar in the adjacent restaurant, modestly lit path along the side of the building to the hallway door that led to the rooms.
The room was spotless and friendly staff on check-in. Only issue we had was the shower - temperature either cold or scalding hot - may be a thermostat issue although I’m not a plumber.
