The minute we walked in, the hotel had a horrible smell. When I walked into my room, the smell was terrible too.
There were bugs, I had a stain on my sheet. When I went to lobby to ask for someone to change sheets,(they didn't answer phone), I was told there was only one person working in the hotel, which was receptionist. They handed me sheets to put on myself.
Location was good, as it was close to dorms, restaurants, stadium, but I would never stay there again.
The property is very rundown and the rooms smell of smoke. The hotel itself, the vents and infrastructure are very loud and noisy. The staff is very nice and helpful, but I would not recommend staying at this location if you can help it.
The location was great. Right next to my son’s apartment and only 10 min walk to stadium.
Clean overall, but faucet in bathroom very loose (moved just changing temperature of water), mold on inside of shower curtain, no hairdryer in room. I should have read description better I guess, but I haven’t been in a hotel in 15-20 yrs that didn’t have a hair dryer in the room.
The location must have been close to the tailgating party; it was loud, with many people celebrating nearby. There were also people in the hallways being loud, although not for long. The main interruptions came from outside nearby, making it difficult to sleep.
Nice big room. Friendly helpful staff no complaints.

I honestly contemplated sleeping in my car instead of my room. I have long blonde hair, and there were around 15 short black hairs all over the shower, floor, and vanity. The desk chair was in absolute disrepair. The sliding balcony door was missing its lock, which did not make me feel safe. Food crumbs around the trash can in the bathroom. I refused to take off my shoes except to get in the bed. The bed seemed clean, that was the only redeeming part of the room.
All things considered, the property was above what I expected for the price ($60 a night). As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. It was back to school week so every hotel ($380 a night and up)in the area was booked. Staff was minimal and stretched beyond words. They were doing their very best under extremely difficult conditions. The beds were very firm and our king bed only had two small pillows. It was uncomfortable. Our tub didn't drain so showers were very limited. The property next-door was under major construction and they started at 7am. Sleep was minimal. We had things to do so it was fine. Room was clean. The whole building smelled like sanitizer and cleaning products. Reassuring during a pandemic. It was above average for a budget hotel.

I have stayed here several times before but this time ran into severe housekeeping issues. The first room we were given wasn't made. It was as the previous guest had left it! When I reported this, I was given a "clean" room. We moved in but realized later that the bathroom had used towels hanging! Worse, the room was infested with roaches. So we complained again and was given a third room. This one had no issues.
Most of their cleaning staff quit, so we had to wait for about an hour and a half to check in along with 20-30 other people. Finally got in our rooms around midnight. Then the next day, they deactivated the keys and we were locked out of our rooms. It took 20 min for them to simply swipe our keys at the desk so we could get back in our rooms. The place was a mess and we would never stay there again...
Booked for two queens got there and told me I could only have a queen bed when I was on a business trip with an employee and then proceeded to tell me I had to find my own parking because they didn’t have any for me
The night I got to the hotel, I checked in at 5 and they told me the room was not ready. At 9 when I came back, I checked in and immediately was disgusted when I opened my hotel room to see it was completely dirty. The room had just been left and I was given that room. This is unacceptable and a major hazard, especially given we are in a pandemic.

We arrived at 9 pm and our room wasn’t ready( they were cleaning it ..)
We had to wait till after 10:30 pm to get to our room.. I would understand this if we came at 3pm( check-in time) or 4 pm but 9pm and still had to wait? And we were not the only family waiting !
It was horrible.
The room was nice and clean when we finally got to see it but there was no toilet paper and there was used soap on the bathtub.
Breakfast was good and the service at breakfast was nice.
I stayed at this hotel a year ago and it was great. It has since become incredibly run down. My first room wasn’t properly cleaned - toiletries from the former guest were still in the shower and sink and shower drains were clogged. I was moved to a second room where the bath faucet was pulling out of the wall.
I called the hotel on Wednesday and asked to be switched to a double queen room from a king bedroom. When I originally made reservations, our 21 year old wasn’t traveling with us. The woman I spoke with said that it was no problem.
We arrived at Wingate on Saturday to find that all double queen rooms were taken. The woman I spoke to on Wednesday had not changed our reservation. Thanks to a nice couple who had a double queen room and didn’t need it willing to switch rooms with us, we were given a double queen room. After that, it took forever for us and the other couple to check in.
The next day we walked through the lobby to find 10 people waiting in line to check in.
I arrived Sunday evening at about 6pm. There were many families waiting to check in. Every single one of us was given a dirty room. Apparently housekeeping had left for the day. The woman at the front desk kept running to see which rooms were clean, one guest even walked in on an occupied room, thinking it was their clean room. It took forever to finally get a clean room. This is move in week for the University and not having staff on site to have clean rooms was unacceptable.
