"Run by the kindest people (and friendliest cats!) in all of Salem, and could not possibly be more centrally located! You can walk everywhere from here, and you have a front row seat to any events in the square - it's literally right across the street. Parking in Salem is at a premium, and we are driving a crew cab truck to make it even worse, but Matt went WELL above and beyond to make sure we got a great spot. "Stunning character property. Large reception/entry area with comfortable seating and access to free water, lemonade, tea & coffee. Reception staff were very friendly - we arrived early (around 12pm) and our check-in was around 3/4pm, however, staff allowed us to check-in early. "I've stayed at numerous locations around Salem over the years. This hotel is my new favorite. It is perfectly situated on Essex street. We stayed in a micro king which was was really cool. The bed was a little raised and surrounded by windows so we felt like we were in a tree house. We could sit in the windows and look over the city. The town hall was right behind us. "Hotel includes a free shuttle from airport but no information of times for this - we waited at Terminal E for about 50 mins then ended up getting a taxi. When got to hotel they said it's every hour so we could have just missed one. Other than this the hotel itself was wonderful. Everything needed in rooms (even conditioner), spacious and quiet. The breakfast had more options than expected with hot omelette, breakfast muffins, bagels as well as fruit, cereals, yoghurt, pastries and hard boiled...
"Love the location. Nice to have the beach right across the street. Restaurant had good food and drinks. Friendly staff. Parking is extra ($15) but it was hard to find a space. First room we were assigned smelled like cigarette smoke so we easily transferred to another room that didn’t have that problem. Would definitely stay here again!"
