"Very hotel in some deeper and in much need of updating albeit some work was happening as floors were up but nothing warned of or briefed Room was basic, tv did not work, staff knew but declined to mention it or offer any fix or assistance. Complaints department details requested on check out and was told ‘someone would be jn touch’. They haven’t. Still. Pretty disappointing in all."

"The staff are lovely, and the property and gardens are beautiful (although they’re not quite as new or updated as the photos make it seem). It’s more of a charming quiet calm hotel in the countryside. My only issue was that the carpet had tons of large stains on it, which was rather gross and I’d expect a hotel to have a vacuum cleaner that can take stains out of the carpet. I was hooked on the Cotswold Stout while we were there, and the town absolutely won our hearts! Highly recommended The Bear if you're around Marlborough!"
