The first day I checked in I had to wait 20 minutes due to the Manager being parked in my assigned parking spot. This caused issues due to me being on crutches just out of surgery. Then out room had a faulty door that didn't want to close or lock correctly. And our bathroom door didn't lock and had a messed up handle. Then to top it all off, the card keys were deactivated while my we were in surgery so that caused a major inconvenience. This has to be the worst stay I have ever had at a Hilton.

When we got to the Homewood Suites in Birmingham, we discovered that the Handicapped Suite which I require was not available. However, the manager, Tracy, told us that she would take care of us. AND DID SHE EVER! We were given the President's Suite with no difference in charge from what our original room would have cost. What luxury we were treated to. I also want to give a shout out to Shimika of the kitchen staff who made sure that I was taken care of at the breakfasts. I am wheelchair bound and she went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed. The service my wife and I got during our stay was absolutely wonderful.
