About the Beitou District

Beitou District is famous for its hot springs and sulphur productions. Located in the mountainous regions of Taipei, the area has almost a surreal ambiance. It is shrouded in mist from the hot springs. Beitou District is also the highest district of the total 12 districts in Taipei. In the year 2012, the Tourism Bureau of Taiwan awarded Beitou District the Top 10 Small Tourist Towns title.

Hot springs are the main tourist attraction in Beitou District and a host of activities are built around this natural wonder. Visits to the hot spring spas for health and rejuvenation are a the usual activities. Another tourist attraction is Puji Temple, an old curated and preserved Japanese Temple. Visitors to Beitou District should also visit the Beitou Hot Spring Museum. It has a good historical record of the district and culture surrounding the thermal hot springs. There are also many highly-rated hotels in Beitou that include reasonablely-priced spa and massage treatments for their clients.
