"Great stay. Petty Harbour room with private bathroom. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Loved the private bathroom with shower and Native brand shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Breakfast was a definite highlight during which the owner Rob offered recommendations and advice on the local sites, stories, and jokes a plenty. Fantastic location. Would absolutely stay again."

"We were pretty disappointed with the service at the Bistro. It took far too long to get our breakfast, the kitchen seemed unable to meet the requests of the guests in an efficient manner & were running out of key ingredients. We asked for brown bread which they were out of, then it was sausage & bacon, then they couldn't find the decaf coffee, they were out of fruit, etc., etc. The key pads to the room would work one minute then not the next minute."

"Our mattress was beyond finished. I cannot believe a hotel would allow guests to sleep on a one that sinks into the center as if it’s normally the resting place for a wrecking ball. The one thing hotels need to get right beyond anything else is the mattress, wouldn’t you agree? Other than that we keep getting bad room locations within the hotel with high traffic hallways (this time the entrance to the connected Denny’s restaurant, 1st floor) but that string of bad luck in my opinion is because...

"This hotel has amazing character, it feels like a slice of history. It has the charm of an older building, but was clean and well maintained. The floors squeak a bit, so if your upstairs neighbours like to walk around, it can get a bit annoying when you are trying to sleep, but the rest of our stay was quiet enough. The breakfast room was a busy place, but was well stocked with banana, apples, oatmeal, granola bars, muffins, croissants, yogurt, juice, tea and coffee. Our room had a fridge,...

"A character home with very no actual character beyond the first impression when entering the main doors. We stayed in the Bell Island Suite, which in no way felt like a suite. It felt more like a dated cottage or camp cabin. The room was tired and poorly maintained, with no consistent style or attention to detail. Issues included missing drawer knobs, mismatched hardware, peeling paint on the shower ceiling, cracked bathroom floor tiles, poor ventilation causing slippery floors, worn furniture,...
