"Its a beautiful, nostalgic throwback to a colonial India hillstation. Darjeeling is wonderful and this hotel has memories, from the posters and photis on the walls, of life back when. I stayed in the Tenzing Norgay block, with old somewhat faded photos of the great man along every inch of corridor. But not everything works...some of the lights, the bedsheets dont fit, the towels are worn. None of that distracted me from the historic atmosphere of old time luxury. The afternoon tea was...

"Property is located near to mall road, though bit walking is required to reach there, overall it was comfortable stay. Food was excellent, very tasty, hospitable staff, vintage type property, Its one of oldest in darjelling well maintained."

Woollen pillow cover was a nice touch. Ranjit provides good service and will make you tea and a nice breakfast. Difficult to find the hotel but call in advance and they'll send Ranjit to pick you up. "Service, location, friendly accommodating staff made us feel like home. Kanchanjungha views from hotel view point.. outside some rooms, dining hall, outside reception.. everywhere. Gave some suggestions and feed back to the general manager who was very appreciative of the constructive feed back. Passion of the staff to serve customers is unparalleled and trickles down from the leadership of Debarya, who seems to talk about the resort like it's his baby. Doma in dining room, authentic Nepalese...

"The staff are lovely and helpful and hotel is quite nice. Its location is also very central. The hotel room was quite cold, however, due to gaps between the windows and the window frame. The hotel offers heaters but these are reasonably pricey. I was able to manage in November but I suspect it would be miserable in December and January. Also the hot water supply was inadequate. It took 20-25 mins to heat up and I found that I had to turn up the heat every minute to keep it reasonably warm."
