Fab hotel with really friendly staff. The breakfast was amazing - plenty of choice. An old building with wonky floors, which can’t be helped. Really comfy bed and good shower. WiFi could do with an upgrade as it’s a little slow and the rooms could do with a few minor paint touch ups but overall great value for money.

Quirky and typically old-English. Whist the room was small, it was quiet and very comfortable. The staff, especially the dining room waitresses, were friendly and suitably attentive. We enjoyed our meals and the location suited us very well.

Nice place, nice staff. Busy road and warm room!

The room was very nice, and the staff were friendly and super helpful. Unfortunately our room was on the top floor on a very hot day- there are not many windows, and they don't open very much so it was very warm with virtually no air circulation. The fan provided helped a little bit, but unfortunately it was an uncomfortable night. Again, not the properties fault, but if you have a room facing the road it is very noisy (particularly with the windows open if it is hot)- I used ear plugs which helped but there was still a lot of noise from the busy road.

Delightful comfort with character

Staff so helpful, pleasant, efficient and someone was always available to help if and when required. Room very comfortable and in context with the style of the building, old rafters and beams etc such a delight compared to the large chains with characterless rooms.

Ok but wouldn’t stay again

Very tired and in need of a full refurbishment, the bar area is cosy and staff are good, food was very mediocre. Rooms are very small and in much need of decorating and refurbishment.

It was just an average stay. The car park needs to be signposted as couldnt find it had to pull up outside and ask for directions. Spacious room but dated and in need of an upgrade. My room was at the front so very noisey with traffic throught the night even with the window shut and a sort of other glazing but dudnt close properly. The street lights coming through the side of the curtains. Single glaze in the bathroom and a cream blind so light comes through that too and shines under the door and the landing light on all night which resulted in light coming through. Walls very thun as could here the person next door when in the bathroom and in the shower and also on the phone.
