"When I originally booked my stay, comments from previous guests described the decor as old and outdated. I found the opposite. The building is old (German poet Schiller once stayed there), but the room was modern throughout with walk in shower and staff very professional and polite. Breakfast was very good, and the hotel is right on the market square in the heart of the city within easy walking distance of everything. A farmer’s market is in the market square in front of the hotel several times a week as well as a stand with Thuringian bratwurst. A tourist info center by the market square next to city hall (Rathaus) was very helpful. I highly recommend the Adler Hotel in Rudolstadt."

"A beautiful hotel in an ideal location in a gorgeous small city filled with cultural wonders. My room, in the older part of the hotel, was elegant and spacious. Front desk and cleaning staff were unfailingly helpful. I would return without question. My only recommendation to the house is to consider a new mattress for the room. It had become a bit…topographical."

"Our son lives in Weimar, and we stay here when we visit him. We are never disappointed. The easy access to a wonderful park is an added bonus."

"Rooms need either air conditioning or better ceiling fans. When it gets hot, there is no way to get proper airflow. If you open the windows, the insects will come inside your room. Please also add a microwave to the rooms. Shower was clogged with hair and the water could not evacuate. I had to unclog the shower otherwise the water level would have risen and gone into the bedroom area."
