"Rambutan is our first choice for our frequent visits to Townsville. The rooms are well appointed and always very clean. The location is very convenient with a range of decent restaurants in walking distance. The restaurants on site are very handy for when we just want to relax by the pool too. The standout for this hotel is the staff, especially Ryan on reception. He always makes us feel so welcome, and he is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure we have a comfortable stay. "

"This hotel is not quite what is was and has gone from exceptional to ‘has room for improvement’.
Examples. A swim up bar should not be cans and slushies only. The bar should be manned by trained and friendly staff. Breakfast doesn’t need to be the overpriced buffet it currently is. Ala carte will be better for everyone. I could keep going - I will be back - Townsville doesn’t have a great deal of competition."

"Whilst this facility was being renovated our room was clean and co.fortable and the staff were friendly and helpful"

"The shower drain had an issue and water would back up while showering, so I reported it to reception. They advised they would send maintenance, which they did, however they used a chemical with a very strong and unpleasant smell. I raised this again with reception and had to request that we be relocated, which was eventually arranged. I would have expected the hotel to offer a room change before carrying out maintenance, rather than us needing to ask.
The breakfast was also disappointing. The quality was poor, with mostly frozen pastries and very limited variety. The cooked breakfast was overly oily and had a noticeable smell of burnt oil."
