Wonderful resort with all you could need within the apartment for self catering. Safe, clean and the staff were friendly and could not do enough. I enjoyed aqua yoga, a massage and my husband enjoyed a round of golf on the course. The kids enjoyed the many pools which were clean and very well maintained. A little train took you to the beach and back, and supermarkets are less than 20 minutes walk away. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

Great apartment style rooms. Plenty big and spacious. Plenty of loungers and space, even in busy times. As expected, dining at the hotel is expensive and variety and offering needs improving. There are a couple of option outside of the hotel but most are a taxi ride away. A great place for a holiday but not perfect

Filthy pool area at Marriott Residences Salgados P

1. Misleading Gluten-Free Promise Prior to our arrival, I contacted the hotel to confirm they could accommodate a guest with celiac disease. I was assured there would be gluten-free options available. In reality, the only offering was a single type of gluten-free bun—served every morning for the entire week. There were no cereals, muesli, or granola alternatives. This lack of variety was not only disappointing but unacceptable given the dietary needs communicated in advance. 2. Unhygienic Pool Area The pool area was shockingly neglected. It appeared to serve more as a birdbath than a guest facility, with seagulls and pigeons frequenting the space. Every sunbed was covered in bird droppings, and unlike other hotels (such as those in Spain, where sunbeds are washed daily), no cleaning was done throughout our stay. The level of filth was beyond anything I’ve encountered in a hotel setting. 3. Payment Dispute at Reception Upon check-in, the reception staff claimed my reservation had not been paid, despite the fact that it had been settled in advance. They were unable to locate the payment in their system and offered no resolution. Although the hotel claims affiliation with the Marriott chain, they had no record of the transaction and failed to follow up or confirm the payment later. No apology was offered for the confusion or the inconvenience caused.

Wir hatten Halbpension gebucht. Das Frühstücksbuffet war hervorragend: frischer Kaffee von der Baristabar, große Obstauswahl, verschiedene Brotsorten, Gemüse, Aufstriche, frisch gepresste Säfte, Omelett uvm. Das Abendessen, ebenfalls in Buffetform, war sehr hochwertig und abwechslungsreich. Die Auswahl war allerdings eher begrenzt, sodass es mit kleineren Kindern teilweise nicht so leicht war etwas passendes zu finden. Riesen Vorteil: es gab immer Wasser in Glasflaschen gratis. Zum Strand fährt eine Bimmelbahn (kostenlos) - ein absolutes Highlight. Die nagelneue Suite war wunderschön, sehr sauber, hell und modern eingerichtet. Die Betten sehr bequem. Wir haben Bolt zum Transfer nach Albufeira genutzt - sehr günstig. Der Internetzugang war gut.

Enttäuschender Aufenthalt trotz gutem Apartment

Der Aufenthalt war enttäuschend – trotz gutem Apartment. Bereits beim Check-in war die Rezeptionistin Mariana auffallend unfreundlich. Auf einfache Fragen wie z. B. zur Anlage oder zum Weg an den Strand reagierte sie abweisend mit Aussagen wie „Das müsst ihr nicht wissen“ oder „Wieso wollt ihr das wissen“. Wir kannten sie nicht und haben uns korrekt verhalten. Auf meine direkte Nachfrage, ob wir ihr etwas getan hätten, antwortete sie mit nein, ihr Ton blieb aber unangenehm. Dazu kam ein sehr starker Mundgeruch. Ich habe das Gespräch abgebrochen und um eine andere Ansprechperson gebeten – es war mit ihr schlicht nicht möglich. Eine solche Person an der Rezeption ist für ein Hotel untragbar. Der Pool sah gut aus, war aber verschmutzt – Haare, Müll, keine Reinigung während des Aufenthalts. Das Frühstück war enttäuschend: wenig Auswahl, vieles fehlte, Personal überfordert. Für ein Glas musste ich 3 Mal nachfragen. Die Eierstation hatte 30 Minuten Wartezeit. Tische waren kaum verfügbar. Zum Strand läuft man mit Kindern ca. 30 Minuten. Keine klare Beschilderung. Der Shuttle-Zug fährt nur alle 30 Minuten, letzte Rückfahrt um 18:30 Uhr. Hinweis: Das Wasser des Atlantiks war sehr kalt – rein informativ. Positiv: Das Apartment war ruhig, sauber, gross und gut ausgestattet. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in 5 Minuten mit dem Auto erreichbar. Für uns stimmte das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis leider nicht.
