The property and the services are incredible. The night shows are not that good. The beach is really disappointing.

When traveling we ALWAYS choose a non smoking resort. The resort claims to be non smoking with the exception of three smoking areas away from main activities. Unfortunately, people were smoking EVERYWHERE. Including smoking while IN the adult pool! Staff did nothing and even laughed about it when several guests complained.

This resort could be a 5 stars resort but do to the quality of beverages they offer. All mix drinks are mixed with artificial juice, pretty similar with koolaid. Margaritas, mimosas, piña coladas are made with this HORRIBLE artificial juice

Got food poisoning on day 5 and the property was pretty difficult from there on out. Very unaccommodating. My wife was pregnant so she couldn't drink and we'd never left the property, but they refused to take any responsibility.

We traveled with the entire family and at the check in desk, they accommodated us to have side by side rooms which was a great help overall. The report is great, fun, and safe. Definitely recommend this report if you have small kids. My children wanted to be with us, so we didn't have them at the Kids Club but during shows, the Club still included our children, so they didn't feel left out. The food was great with the Akumal's buffet being rotated every day. It felt like you were eating a new entre every night. My only negative comment is that they close the pool at 6PM when the sun is still out. I understand that dinner is starting, and they want to have their guests who are eating on the balcony not be disturbed with pool play, but pool could be open till at least 7PM. Other than that, we loved this resort we booked Bahia Principe in Dominican Republic in the fall.

Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal is an amazing resort! My wife and I decided to go for our anniversary and it was everything we imagined it to be. The beach is beautiful, the service is impressive, and the food was to die for!

We had stuff Stolen out of our room, money, cigarettes, our second door key ! personal items. We get it that you can’t screen all your stuff to be perfect. The part that we had a big problem with how they handled it they basically tried to brush it off as nothing , and after 5 days they still haven’t talked to the maid , we stopped getting our room cleaned because it was the same one after they changed the locks!
