"If you want an affordable, safe, quiet stay in this area, Golden Lotus is for you. If you're used to western hotels, this may not be your thing. This is a classic, old-school Indian hotel with all of the charms and oddities you may expect. The rooms are very large, the staff is helpful and friendly (but not in the overly sycophantic way of the 5 star Indian Hotels). Most of the staff speak Hindi only, but we were able to communicate my requirements without much difficulty. There is breakfast and food to order available in the hotel. It is located in a very quiet residential neighborhood less than 10 minutes from the MG Metro Station. There is 24 / 7 security at the front gate. Wifi could be a bit faster, but works well."
