The facility was great, staff was friendly, food was good, location couldn’t be better.
The only thing that wasn’t great was the pillows, which were pretty small
Sitting right under the Matterhorn, best location on Zermatt. Good food, relatively affordable. Highly recommend for the view.

Basic place but great views and ski in ski out
We stayed for four days, which was a bit long. The views are spectacular but the place is pretty basic so we got tired after a while (no access to the village after 16). Food was quite bad (breakfast was basic but ok, dinners were low quality). Would recommend for a few days if you are looking for a basic stay with ski in ski out!
Amazing mountain ambiance - that was my second time staying in this hotel. Matterhorn view from my balcony, good breakfast and excellent dinner, friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately it gets booked up very quickly during the summer so it’s really hard to get.
This is a hotel partly up the mountain accessible only by cable car. They should warn people strongly no service up after 4 PM. But the stay was exceptional. Immediate access to trails. Incredible views of Matterhorn and immediate access to hiking trails and cable service a lot higher. Good meals, dinner and breakfasts. Dinner is included in stay, but waiters should warn that beverages are separate and charged for, even five euros for a cheap little teabag. Everything is included at breakfast, which are good. My room window looked out on the Matterhorn, and watching it in starlight and at dawn was incredible. I did not realize where this hotel was when I booked it, and got so much more than I expected. Kind and helpful staff. Strongly recommend this place. (Not every room has a Matterhorn view like mine did, not is the weather as good as it was on my stay. Cloudy or bad weather obvious affects views and activities, and hotel has no control over this.)

The location is breathtaking, but the hotel should be clear that the final gondola up is around 4p up front in their marketing material.
The staff was not communicative via email once the issue was identified 7 and 2 days prior to arrival.
The accommodations are spartan but for the most part, comfortable. That said, there are no cards or board games to occupy the time in the evenings.
Would not recommend staying for more than a night based on the location.
the room with private bathroom is small, basic simple but very clean and warm. from the balcony you face Matterhorn and very convenient for photography. and this is the reason i booked. just want everyone know that there is no water kettle in the room, only one power socket on the wall which is next to the door, and one in the bathroom.
Where to begin!? Schwarzsee Hotel is amazing for skiers who travel across the continents with the mentality to enjoy the outdoors. This hotel is very convenient as it is a ski-in-and-out hotel. With the most amazing views of the Matterhorn and part of the Swiss Alps just out your window. The gondola is one minute walk and to embark further up in the mountains and all the way to Cervinia ski resort which lands in Italy!! The staff at the hotel are polite and helpful, the food is beyond delicious. Enjoyed every meal for 4 consecutive days. Your stay includes breakfast and dinner. The dormitories are a bit stretchy and the mattresses hard spring coils. But if you are here to ski the alps, this is just a minor thing that you can overlook. I would definitely comeback!!
Otroligt härliga dagar. Perfekt boende uppe i backen med pister runt om.
Bra middag och lugnt och skönt för att orka morgondagen.
Bra sängar, bra frukost och trevlig personal
Very rude and unfriendly staff, particularly the elderly woman who seemed like the manager working during the day. Both soap and shampoo dispenser in the the shower/bathroom were empty, and had to ask multiple times to get it refilled, which still was not done promptly. Was rudely asked to settle my bill before check out time in the middle of eating my breakfast. Also was responded to angrily when I requested to check my luggage after check out, saying that it was too full and I would have to find space, which was not difficult at all to do for my medium sized backpack. Also the location is poor if you want to do anything in town, as they inform you in an email a few days prior to your stay that you will have to catch the 3pm gondola from Zermatt at the latest if you want to get back to the "hotel", which is really more of an adult hostel. I ended up sleeping on my friends' couch at their hotel in town for one of my nights because I wanted to hang out with them in town and it ended up being a far more comfortable and pleasant experience.
Gut gegessen. Tolles Frühstück. Saubere Zimmer. Dusche in einem geschlossenen Raum.
Wenn man Aperol Spritz bestellt bekommt man ein Getränk das gleich teuer ist aber anders schmeckt. Wohlverstanden, ohne vorherige Rückfrage.
