Had a room at the very top of the building but good exercise with concrete steps. Room very pleasant. Good AC and kettle/coffee/tea in room. Breakfast included in room price very good. Prices for other meals expensive but lots of options within walking distance. Boutique attached to hotel. Overall convenient, clean and comfortable with pleasant and accommodating staff for a short stay in Stone Town.
Loved our stay here! Sharazad has many great qualities but the best thing is the staff-amazingly helpful and kind. I want to say a big thanks to Richard who was a legend, the manager who used to live in Bangalore (sorry i cant remember your name!) and all the staff in the restaurant who were so friendly.
The hotel is in the heart of Stone Town and is full of character, the rooms were comfy and breakfast was delicious. If I return to Stone Town (and I hope one day I can) I know where Im staying!
The hotel was great. The location was perfect to walk to anything we wanted to see in Stone Town. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. We thought the food at the restaurant was excellent! We had the most delicious lunch. I would definitely stay here again. It was a great find!
I loved my stay at Sharazad. I was travelling for work and needed a comfortable and convenient spot to spend 7 nights. The staff are extremely helpful and the setting is beautiful.
As a vegan I find breakfast can be the trickiest meal when travelling, but I always had something healthy and hearty to eat here. Highly recommend for veggie travellers.
Watch out for their airport transfer rates! They told us on the first day that the cost to the airport would be $25. However, on the day we were leaving, they suddenly added a tax, making it $33 in total for just an eight-kilometer distance. To put this into perspective, without even comparing to the world's most expensive cities but just locally: we were quoted $40 for a one-hour drive from the airport to Paje beach, and a friend was charged $35 for a two-hour journey to Nungwi. The comparison makes their rate seem ridiculous. While the hotel's food and accommodation were commendable, this experience on the last day was truly off-putting.
