"Hotel located in a very convenient location for shops restaurants and bars staff very helpful room was great Browns restaurant and bar also very convenient"
"I stayed at the Angel hotel for a few days over October half term with my husband and children (7and 10). I have many good things to say about it.
Firstly the location is perfect for a city break. It is moments from the castle and city centre which makes a visit to the area so easy. Cardiff has so many attractions it’s perfect for a family break.
The staff we met there were all lovely and so helpful - from the friendly receptionist, breakfast staff and housekeeping. We were always treated with a smile and hello.
The beds were comfortable, rooms warm and spacious and the breakfast delicious,
The negatives are all related to the same thing really - the building itself needs some love and money spending on it, It looks and feels tired.
The carpets on the corridors and stairs are wearing out, the walls are chipped and the car park is pretty scary in the dark - doesn’t feel very safe.
The hotel has such a great history and character. It needs so investment to bring it back to its former glory - not modernise all the soul out of it though as it’s a gem,
My family were very happy there and would definitely return"
"Lovely hotel, staff on arrival and in the restaurant were amazing and very focused on the details, food was amazing in the sorting room for the evening. Breakfast had a good selection although a bit disconnected… room was really noisy as it was about a party in one of the function rooms, when I told reception they said well it was Halloween, this is not the response I expected having paid £300 for the night …there was no apology for the noise experienced or any offer made, most disappointing."
"The signature rooms are very nice - spacious and with a balcony. Love the lounge and the good breakfast at Steak on Six. Sona was good for dinner, with superbly attentive staff, but it was a little overpriced. Our air con didn’t work and the pool changing rooms could do with a freshen up, but otherwise a very pleasant and relaxing stay."
"Everything was great, nice and clean as well as the staff being super friendly.
The bath wouldn’t drain if the shower I had, it was likely just me not knowing how to drain it."
"The Hotel is well located and easy to reach by car and an easy walk into city centre. The car park is a bonus, but very expensive! Our room was fairly sizeable for a group of 3. But the amount of tea and coffee provided needs to be improved. The bathroom, although fairly clean, was dated and in poor repair in some areas. The power of the shower was very poor, but the bath was excellent. Pool was lovely as was the steam room, sauna and jaquzzi, but was crowded at times due to half term holidays. No staff monitoring! In general a good stay, but the parking charges might put me off staying again"
