Despite some deficiencies, I’d still give Chiostro a top rating. (Booking it you know it’s not a 5 star resort) Our room was spacious,clean & comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. Parking free, safe & right outside It was an easy walk to the beautiful city of Volterra. The dining room is excellent. We ate both dinners there. The breakfast provided was also excellent. All the staff was wonderful & so helpful. The internet in our room was spotty. The staff know & that is being addressed. We learned that the internet is a problem throughout Volterra. We were very pleased & would love gladly return to Chiostro delle Monache & Volterra.

The hotel was so cold. We asked for extra blankets and heat, but it never got warm. They told us it was as warm as it gets. I slept with a hat on and my coat over me. It’s probably nice is the summer, but was just too cold to be comfortable.

Nice place to say when visiting Volterra

Nice place, just a bit off the historic city. Room was good and spacious. Breakfast was not great but fair enough.

The staff in all departments were great, helpful, very friendly and approachable. The reception team bent over backwards to help us when our flight home to the UK was cancelled. The room was very clean, spacious, comfortable and attended to every day. The buffet breakfast was all you could eat with a huge choice of food. The restaurant was good value for money and had a good selection of meals. The location of the hotel was very interesting with a 20 minute walk to the centre of Volterra.

The staff was helpful with an excellent spoken English. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable with additional pillows if needed, and a small fridge. The room has air conditioning with a very spacious bathroom. The atmosphere of the convent was very special with large hallways, a sense of peace and calmness. We went to the restaurant that night and it was very nice. They have an inside or outside area, and we decided to stay outside where the tables were not closely connected to the other tables and there were arches with a little garden in the middle. We had their “vino della casa,” which was very good, and the food was excellent too. The hotel is about 20 minutes walk from Volterra. We had the breakfast included and the buffet was wonderful with different cakes, croissants, cookies, breads, ham or cheese, etc. We would definitely recommend this stay as this was one of the best hotels we stayed while we were travelling in Italy.

La location, la camera e la colazione sono decisamente un punto forte di questo hotel. Personale gentilissimo e sorridente. Peccato che la sera si è svolta una festa di compleanno con tanto di dj e musica altissima e, anche chiudendo la finestra, non è stato possibile addormentarsi prima di mezzanotte (circostanza assai in contrasto con la tipologia della location). Forse sarebbe bastato assegnarci una camera con un affaccio diverso da quello dove si svolgeva il party.
