Quiet, convenient, efficient.
We only used the room as a base but you could walk into the town where there were a couple restaurants.
Just across the river from Porto but it has the Port Wine cellars
Good shopping and metro links. Not rundown like central Porto
Vila Nova de Gaia was beautiful and everyone around very helpful. For traveling on my own can honestly say I've never felt as safe on my own as I did staying here.
There are loads of shopping centres, wineries and restaurants. Great views, and in summer there are public events (concerts, etc) at Jardim do Morro, worth a visit!
