"I came across this recommendation for Hotel Umbra after stumbling across the CatholicsTravelersGuide blogsite when doing research for my trip to Assisi - I am so glad that I did! My mom and I loved the place. Our trip to Assisi was magical and this hotel made us feel right at home. It has the historic & quaint charm of what you associate with Francescan times, which made the trip that much more unique and spiritual. The entire staff was delightful & hospitable. Carlos, specifically, was so helpful in checking us in and was an assuring constant face throughout our stay. We gave each other a big hug on our way out to the taxi. As a family owned business, it was delightful to meet Paola and the other señora who own the place. The views from the windows and terraces are spectacular, place was spotless, and we slept like babies in their comfortable and warm beds. Walkable from the major basilicas, shops, restaurants, and right in the middle of Piazza del Commune. Breakfast was tasty and the dining and house cleaning staff were so servicial and friendly, even with my minimal Italian. Thankful for the elevator for our massive luggages from our multi-city trip. We’ll be back again!"

"Our stay at the Hotel Sorella Luna was simply outstanding, exceeding our expectations in every way. The staff at the front desk were exceptionally welcoming and efficient, making our late-night check-in seamless and pleasant. Our rooms , were spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully appointed with minimalist decor and high-quality furnishings. The bed was remarkably comfortable, and the provided toiletries and linens were comfortable. "

"Lovely room which was clean and a lovely bathroom and shower. Family run property. Obvious that the whole family did their best to make our stay as lovely as possible. Alicia was delightful and very helpful. Breakfast was good. Too much sweet items for our taste but very beautifully displayed. Didnt use the small spa area, but would suggest the outside area of the spa be given some attention. Needed some tidying up and maintenance, but it was the end of the season, so may already be part of the plan going forward. Excellent location for exploring the whole area. Would definitely return."
