The Castle is nestled away in a private enclave, yet convenient to restaurants, shops, historic sites, and the highway. Comfortable and spacious room. Basic breakfast in regal setting with a view of the Hudson on the terrace.

Very quiet and lovely area. There is not a restaurant or bar open and the spa is closed as well. The grounds are beautiful. I hope they decide to reopen the dining and spa areas

Staying in a castle is always exciting and while interesting and historical, the property's famed restaurant was closed as was the spa; parking difficult and the continental breakfast was on par with a mass market motel. Staff was courteous but a bit aloof. The room was very spacious and well lit and the grounds were wonderful.

While a luxury resort, the day before we were see the stay they informed us there was no restaurant, bar, or spa on premises. It was past our opportunity to cancel without fee and without enough time to plan otherwise. We have two young children and access to food is a must. Very disappointed by the lack of transparency.

Castle and grounds were neat to explore. The lack of gluten free food options was disappointing considering the variety of inexpensive products, for example, the various flavors of rice Chex and Cheerios as well as fruity pebbles cereals.

I was at this property in the late 90's, and it was really wonderful then. Not so wonderful in 2024, unfortunately. It has not been well-maintained. Furniture is scuffed, scratched, stained and old. Bath products were not re-stocked and only two bath towels were included ... and no face cloths. A light bulb was out in the room. The TV was exceptionally small, especially considering the size of the room, and it was impossible to access channels or streaming services - there were three pages of TV instructions, and even after following them, it didn't work! Common areas were not clean (e.g. the round pedestals under the breakfast room tables were filthy). There used to a high-end wonderful restaurant and spa at this property, and neither are available at this time. It really feels like this property is dying a slow death. In the absence of the restaurant (and apparently any culinary staff), they only provide a "light continental breakfast" this time of year: bagels, muffins, fruit and coffee/tea. No protein to be found (they could have at least provided hard boiled eggs and yogurt!). The fitness center is small but functional. It was quite warm in there, and there was no AC. The bathroom off the fitness center had no toilet paper. Some of the above complaints, in isolation, are not that big of a deal, but when taken together, should give you a picture of why this property has declined substantially and why you should look elsewhere.

Absolutely beautiful resort. It's off season so no restaurant or spa which I'm sure are both great. The room was so spacious and beautiful. Cleanliness was decent, the duvet kept slipping out from the cover and had some stains (wine, makeup) and the shower is in need of updates (bad grout and aging from use)and one of the in room coffee mugs was dirty. But it was overall very nice. The staff are so friendly. The light continental breakfast was really good. Pastries, bagels, juice, etc. the view from the dining area is magical, you're atop the hill and can see the Hudson. Felt regal.

Beautiful unkempt old building.The service was terrible. The room lacked tissues, hair conditioning, body lotion or any other notions.Housekeeping was barely existent. Bedding seemed used, dry blood stain on robe, trash behind dresser, filthy carpet.

The hotel is picturesque and has a nice climate and view. The staff was not helpful and I was unable to get my receipt for the stay. The breakfast is basic continental breakfast without warm options.

Rooms were comfortable. Some of the linens and robes had holes in them or were worn. Breakfast was ok. I expected a little more for the cost. Check in and out was easy. Shower curtain was torn. Overall they need to spend more money on renovations since it is advertised as a spa hotel.

Two stars because the room was big. Mini fridge didn’t work. TV was tiny for a 4 stars hotel and gave you steps to watch movies and connect your phone to the TV however it didn’t work we call the staff for help and they said that it doesn’t work. Then why you leave instructions and waste people’s time trying to figure out the TV. Also there was garbage from previous guests under the bed. Breakfast was minimal but free and better than nothing.

Loved the castle atmosphere. Very beautiful. Parking on steep hill is tricky, but Valet parking is offered. Room was oversized and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Romance and history!
The setting is beautiful with a nice Hudson River view in the winter. The breakfast was good. The room was very large and clean. Only downside was the Television remote was stuck on one channel and service never came to help. Everything else worked fine. Lovely historic romantic castle!

A gem
I lived in Westchester for years and never knew about this amazing gem. The Castle is lovely inside and out, the rooms are beautiful, the beds are comfortable, and everyone on staff is friendly and helpful. The location is really convenient, and once you figure it out, the parking makes sense. We were there in the off-season for the restaurant, pool, and spa, which was actually very nice and quiet. There was an electric kettle in the room, which was really convenient for this tea lover. There was a leak in the room next door and the front desk reached out to make sure their clean up efforts weren't disruptive, which was very thoughtful. We will definitely be back again soon (hopefully). The only thing that wasn't amazing was the continental breakfast, which was lovingly displayed, clean, and in a gorgeous location, but the food itself was kind of uninspired, but for a free breakfast it was fine. (There are really good bagels about 5 minutes away, should you want real NY bagels)

Have stayed here on a few occasions , it's a beautiful property in a beautiful setting . Very clean , big spacious rooms and helpful staff . A good continental breakfast is available . The only issue this time , refrigerator in room not working and issues with tv , I also felt that because the restaurant , spa, and lounge were not open its not really fair to charge resort fee . I do understand its off season .
