PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney

PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney

8/10 Good
"I would have loved to give five stars, but a few small things held it back. This trip was a birthday getaway for my wife, and I'd notified the hotel ahead of time. We'd also paid for the club room upgrade and late checkout. Unfortunately, neither was mentioned at check-in. That said, there was a lovely surprise waiting in the room for my wife, along with a handwritten note - a really nice touch that didn't go unnoticed. The late checkout was initially missed and had to be corrected after the fact. To make things more frustrating, the valet required pickup by 11am regardless, which meant we were effectively paying twice for something we'd already booked. The valet fee really should be prorated to match the length of your stay, not charged as if it resets daily regardless of what you've paid for. Breakfast was mediocre - the staff were lovely and friendly, but not being able to order eggs made to your liking isn't really acceptable at this class of hotel. The same issue showed up in the club room, where the beverage selection was surprisingly limited. Overall, a good stay with a few gaps that felt out of step with the price point — hopefully addressed for future guests."

"Best location! We walked everywhere! From the hotel to the Sydney Opera House and everywhere in between. And if you don’t want to walk any where, you don’t have to because a 5 minute walk takes you to the beautiful Darling Harbour. So many restaurants, shops and ice cream! Beautiful scenery with the water and yachts. Awesome playground for children too! The hotel has a delicious coffee and bakery shop in the lobby, a great restaurant and very helpful staff. Clean, large rooms. Comfortable beds. Couldn’t ask for more. I will definitely stay there again on my next visit."
