For a one night stop over it was perfect. We were welcomed and treated as if we were booked in for a fortnight!! Could not fault the accommodation or the friendly service. Thank You.

Lovely clean, light and spacious room. Close to plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants but situated in quiet side street. Bespoke breakfast delivered to your room at a time of your choosing and was beautifully cooked and presented. Host was super friendly and helpful - all in all a great stay

The Gretenham B&B in Swanage is clean, quiet, well-located and a great value. The best of it all are the hosts Lou and John, with their great advice for local sights and restaurants, warm welcome, comfortable, attractive rooms and an extensive breakfast menu that reflects Lou’s years as a restaurant owner. Be sure to ask about local walks - their library of guides/maps is a great resource.

Lovely stay
Arrived and was greeted by our friendly host who made us feel at home. Bed & breakfast was in walking distance of the town with plenty of eateries & pubs. Room was small by very comfy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was chosen from menu previous night and cooked freshly in morning. We were made to feel very welcome, would thoroughly recommend.

John & Lou were excellent hosts and very welcoming also they could not have been more helpful, including with suggestions and recommendations of were to eat in the evening. We were pleased that the area was so quiet at night and the breakfast was first class. We would not hesitate to recommend them and would be happy to return ourselves.

relaxing stay in swanage
We were made to feel welcome. The room was very clean, relaxing and bright and airy. Breakfast served in our room was a nice touch. Near to the town, and beach. A lovely break.

A night in Swanage
We had a good visit to Gretenham B&B in Swanage. Our room was comfortable well designed and in a quiet road which is very steep.We were able to find street parking a short distance away.The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices and served on very attractive pottery. Our hosts were welcoming , helpful and friendly.

Very accommodating, clean and ideal location
We had a lovely one night stay at the Gretenham B&B towards the end of August. The location is so idea, you are just up the road from the main town centre of Swanage. The owner John is so lovely and really accommodating. I was suffering from a horrible ear infection the weekend that I stayed and had hardly slept the night we stayed. It was not a problem for John when I asked for a later check out to get myself together for the day head. The room was very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend staying if you are visiting the beautiful seaside town of Swanage.

Superb location. Very friendly proprietors. Large comfortable bed. The only negative was the incredibly small bathroom where toilet, shower and basin were all cramped into a space that made using the toilet and bathroom very difficult.

Few Days Away
We really enjoyed our stay, the B&B was in a perfect location. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The breakfast served each morning was delicious. Can highly recommend. We will definitely stay there again.

Traumhaftes Zimmer, tolle Gastgeber
Durch einen Zufall sind wir in Swanage gelandet und haben uns spontan entschieden zu bleiben um hier ein wenig die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Was für ein schöner Ort! Fix übers Handy das Zimmer im Gretenham B&B gebucht und die Gastgeber kontaktiert, standen wir eine halbe Stunde später schon vor der Tür. Wir wurden super freundlich von John empfangen. Die Tatsache, dass wir so spontan gekommen sind war überhaupt kein Problem. Das Zimmer war wirklich spitze, geräumig mit großem Bett, scheinbar neu eingerichtet, und netter Essecke im Erker, von wo aus man das Meer und die Küste sieht. Wohlfühlfaktor 10 :) Das Frühstück wurde uns von Lou aufs Zimmer gebracht, war sehr sehr lecker und mit Aussicht auf das Meer genossen war jetzt spätestens der Zeitpunkt gekommen, an dem wir hier am liebsten den ganzen Sommer geblieben wären. Swanage ist schon in der kurzen Zeit ein echter Sehnsuchtsort für uns geworden und mit dem schönen Zimmer im Gretenham und den sehr herzlichen Gastgebern war das einer unserer schönsten Tage in Südengland.
