"Is this a fancy hotel? Not at all. Was this a charming stay? Absolutely! My kids loved it. It's literally across the street from Pensacola Beach, and the bit of beachfront on Sabine Bay, though small, entertained my kids for hours. They had a great time hunting for minnows and crabs with a net and flashlight at night. The staff was also super friendly, one even came over and lent my kids a headlamp. There's also a certain vintage Americana felt at the Surf and Sand that's somehow lost in the big brand resort experiences. It's not upscale, but we sure enjoyed our stay! "

"Staff was nice & friendly!! Few problems we had was they didn’t tell us about daily parking expenses & also our room had horrible smell in it, had my allergies messed up over all everything else was ok"

"Has 2 elevators and one was out of service for most of my stay. I was on the tenth floor and made it hard to run down to get a drink or snack not knowing how long it would take to get back to the room. No adjustments made to the bill or any voucher given out. Also had to search for a housekeeping cart to get some towels bc front desk not answering phone. "
