"This guest house has prominent position in the centre of Pogerola village, up in the hills 1000ft above Amalfi, with amazing views over the hills to Ravello and out to the sea. The village is small but well served with restaurants, bars. Walking to and from Amalfi is not for the faint-hearted, but there is an excellent bus service down to Amalfi, and the return shuttle runs till 11.30pm. "Our room was great - good size and very clean. We had a fabulous view from our balcony across to the port of Amalfi. Breakfast was on the first floor balcony which also had a great view over the beach and port. Breakfast was not a buffet as we have been used to so options were limited but the coffee and staff were great! The location of the hotel was so central to everything in Amalfi town - the cathedral, restaurants, the bus and ferry stations. Highly recommend Hotel Residence in Amalfi. "

"This place is incredible! An amazing cliffside setting with direct access to the emerald water of the Mediterranean. However, because of its setting, there are a lot of stairs (not for those who are out of shape). There are 165 steps down to the accommodation from the main road (staff helped with luggage) and another 300 steps down to the water. "Very nice hotel! We booked a room with an over look and a jacuzzi tub. The water didn’t stay warm enough to fill the tub, but the room was overall very nice. The views were beautiful, the staff so nice and accommodating, and breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay here again! "

"Wonderful budget hotel option with valley views down to the Mediterranean. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious! Our host was very friendly and helpful. Parking is provided just off the main parking lot for a discounted rate, and our host helpfully parked for us so we wouldn’t have to navigate the tight corners.
