"Beautiful quiet setting. The views were amazing. Proximity to the black church and Bjarnarfoss waterfall was a bonus. In April, we saw seals outside our window and enjoyed excellent craft cocktails from the bar. I recommend staying here one night and dining at the hotel. Then go explore Snæfellsnes Peninsula and stay in Grundarfjörður next. "
"Breathtaking views, quiet and relaxing surroundings. Location was perfect to see all the amazing views the Snaefellsness Peninsula has.
The owner was so welcoming and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was everything you needed to fuel up for a day of adventures or relaxation. The Kast House is on a horse farm & we were able to take a morning horseback ride along the beach."
"What a delightful place to stay! We had a large room with huge bed overlooking the fishing docks and bay. If we had a room on the other side of the hotel, we would have seen mountains and the Baejarfoss waterfall. The room had a large TV, loveseat, chair, desk, and room for extra storage. The bathroom was well equipped. This is a great place to stay for a few days if exploring the Snaefellsnes peninsula (comfort, food, gas, grocery, excursions). We ate dinner in the restaurant below, and this was a fantastic dinner. Check-in was literally arriving, going to the room, and entering the given code. Super easy. Highly recommend staying at VestMar!"
"This hotel is right on the ocean and a great walkway with fantastic sights. There is a restaurant attached and a few others across the street (but might not be open). Advice: Bring food/snacks with you because of limited shops and restaurants. The hotel looks like container pods. Ours had four separate rooms. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The shower is heated via solar, so there is limited hot water. The wifi was great as was TV reception. The bed was basic with one pillow each. No washcloths. This was a perfectly adequate and comfortable place to stay for one night."
"The location is serene and beautiful. I was welcomed warmly and given a brief tour. There's a restaurant on site that served a 4 course pre-selected menu that was generous, delicious, and comprised of local fresh caught ingredients. Very quiet room with a window to listen to the ocean. Breakfast was cozy the next morning and checkout was very easy. Just past Ytri Tunga, this is a perfect evening stay after exploring the upper peninsula."
"We checked in a day early after an abysmal experience at our previous hotel - and we’re glad we did! Beautiful location, comfortable beds, spotless room, exceptional staff, and amazing breakfasts and dinners. This was a truly memorable place. "
