Fantastic Service
Fantastic stay, the father and son owners know good customer service and we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. The breakfast was great, every day everything was cooked fresh.

The Avenue is a little gem. So quiet, inside in excellent condition and the food was out of this world. Simon and Jonathan were absolutely perfect hosts, so friendly and helpful, can’t wait to go again

The owners were really friendly nothing to much trouble and they had a very good local knowledge. Couldn’t fault the whole stay, would recommend and would defiantly stay again. Really good Breakfast.

Lovely stay,the entertainment In ballroom was nice,and breakfast self serve buffet was fantastic. Car wouldn’t start in the morning 😪however,on site maintenance man Gary after 15 minutes managed to start it for us which was fantastic 😊

Great stay
A 4 night break away for complete relaxation and recharge. Simon and Jonathan looked after us extremely well. Room was lovely, spacious and cool. Lovely towels and bed linen. Fantastic breakfast every morning ans place lovey and clean. Lounge/bar area a loey touch and the conservatory and garden beautiful. Lovely walks to the beach too. We will be returning again.

Great place to stay!
Johnathan and Simon were really warm and welcoming. Room was really nice and bed was comfy! Great size en-suite. B&B was clean and covid safety aware. Breakfast was great and very filling! Would definitely stay again. Thanks for an enjoyable weekend!

Wonderful guesthouse in a quiet location
We had a lovely stay at The Avenue. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. The breakfasts were amazing. It is in a nice quiet neighbourhood but very close to everything in Shanklin and the beach. The rooms were very nice and clean and everything is being done perfectly in respect of Covid. The only minor thing was there were no chairs in the room, only a stool, and therefore not quite as comfortable spending time in the room as i would have liked but this is just a minor thing to mention in what is a very well run guesthouse. Recommended.

Excellent hosts. Welcoming, attentive and friendly. Excellent breakfast and choices. Wanting to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Honesty bar with good selection of alcohol and soft drinks. Great location to Shanklin. Rooms clean and good size. Tea and coffee making facilities etc. Ensuite excellent. Double size shower tray piping hot water. Mattress was very 'springy' and could probably do with being being replaced. However overall an excellent experience

Memorable experience.
Great B&B within walking distance of all of Shanklin main attraction run by a dynamic and very knowledgeable father and son duo. We went over for our anniversary and it was an amazing experience, with very helpful hosts. The Avenue was well presented, clean and with everything you need for a trip. The bar is well stocked and reasonably priced. Great breakfast which on good days can be eaten outside in the back garden.

Great little find, will definitely return.
Accomodation was perfectly situated for local amenities and hosts were very welcoming on arrival. All facilities needed were provided, such as toiletries, tea, coffee, etc in room. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Particularly liked that there was a comfy lounge for guest use with an honesty bar....great for a night in after a busy day! Breakfast was amazing with excellent quality food and as much as you wanted. All in all, this was superb value for money.

Home from home
One of the nicest small hotels I've stayed in. It's all about the atmosphere for me. Being a 19th century building, and retaining original features, it's not coordinated and modern. Skirting boards don't match and parts are a little quirky. But I like that; it feels a home from home. That said, the decor is fresh and contemporary; clean and tidy. The Avenue is a guest house, not a hotel. It excels as a guest house; We couldn't have asked for more. The owners are lovely and go out of their way to accommodate any reasonable requests. It somehow manages to be laid back and efficient at the same time, which is a neat trick. Location-wise, it's a short walk to the esplanade and close to a few take-away food places (avoid the Chinese one). Breakfast was excellent, and vegetarian and vegan diets are well catered for. Parking can be a little cramped, but for the Isle of Wight this us hardly unusual. We were staying on a cycling holiday, and it's an ideal base - close to the Red Squirrel linking Sandown, Newport and Cowes. The strategy for coping with the COIVD19 situation, in full swing when we visited, was exemplary.

Simon and son Jonathan make you feel incredibly welcome at the avenue and the service from start to finish is first class. The breakfast is exceptional. The room was clean and comfortable and the location ideal.

Well kept B and B. Professional and friendly greeting spoilt by card reader in hand for payment in first five minutes. Good breakfasts. Shanklin is not as promised in the brochures.

One of the best!
Stayed two nights at this fabulous BnB. There were no negatives. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, the food was great, the house had inside and outside areas for guests to relax, it is close to transport and the hosts are just lovely and accommodating people. Parking on the property is also a bonus. Can thoroughly recommend a stay at The Avenue.

Simon and his son Jonathon were very friendly host, made sure we were happy and explained very well all the facilities.
