I have had the most lovely several days in sorrento on a solo trip and that is primarily because of this hotel. The staff is so lovely and attentive. The grounds are stunning. The beach access at the bottom of the cliff is heavenly. I love the dining staff, the food has been extraordinarily fresh and innovative. Being there, living at that place for several days , is a highlight among all of my lodging experiences I have ever had. And I have traveled to six continents over three decades. I want to reiterate- lovely, lovely staff. Arrivederci. Until we meet again. We WILL meet again.

Beautiful property with impeccable service! The concierge was amazing, helpful with everything and anything you could need. Breakfast every morning was beyond amazing. Our initial room had some issues with noise from a vent however the hotel was very accommodating and switched us rooms with no problem. The food, drinks and views from the lounge and restaurant by the water are unbeatable! Also very close to downtown Sorrento, with free shuttle or 10 min easy walk.

We loved the architecture and setting of La Cocumella and its history from the late 1500s. We enjoyed the pool and beach area a couple of times during our 8 night stay, although it was early in the season. The gardens are lovely and serene and we enjoyed that oasis of calm. The breakfasts were amazing — everything from fresh fruits, freshly baked pastries, cheeses and meats/fish, cereals, yogurts, and a cooking station where eggs were cooked on demand. It was probably the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever seen. We ate in the pretty dining room on our first night and enjoyed it immensely. We were also thrilled with the female saxophone player who played during dinner- a lovely touch! Giuseppe, the concierge, who has been working there for 30 years was outstanding and very helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is 2 km from downtown. My only less positive comments were in contrast to other five star resorts. 1) Bottled water was provided in our room on our first night only. After that we had to order it from the bar for 5 euros. This is in contrast to every other 5 star resort we stayed in that supplied bottled water every day. I think this is a minimum expectation to provide drinking water for guests. 2) the carpet runners in the upstairs halls (we were on the 2nd floor) were looking a little weathered and in need of replacement. Once again - just a minor observation that we both made but given this is a well known, historic hotel, it brought our overall rating just a touch

Went here with my family of five - it was a bit pricey, but it was worth every penny if it. My family enjoyed every bit of the property - from the gardens, restaurants, ocean views from the terrace, down to the beach - this place was paradise. If you’re looking for a classic family-focused Sorrento experience, look no further than the Cocumella. Before we arrived in Sorrento, our excellent concierge, Giuseppe, and his team helped us arrange several services. Upon arrival, friendly staff greeted us and remained attentive throughout our stay. Although there were a couple of issues with our room, the team immediately attended to our needs. From the staff to the food, the views, facilities, location, and history, we were delighted at every turn. Although we stayed for five days, the staffing was consistent and doted on our toddler, making our stay feel effortless. We will be revisiting this lovely hotel in the future.
