It was a fun experience. The electricity was actually out the night we were there all over the town after bad rain, so the path to get to the hotel at night was a bit challenging. But the blackout made us follow our circadian rhythms and woke up extremely early to the beautiful sound of birds singing and a magnificent view of Lago Atitlan. We took the free kayaks early on the lake and were the only ones out at that time. The breakfast was delicious Guatemalan food and the staff was super friendly. We enjoyed the rustic, eco experience!
I had a very good stay at UXlabil. The property is impressive and the view is extraordinary. The staff was especially helpful—they found me a fan to make the room more comfortable in the heat and offered extra pillows. Everyone did what they could to make my stay enjoyable.
The on-site restaurant is very convenient, and the food was filling. I didn’t take advantage of the included breakfast because I had a very early morning and was out the door by 5:00 AM.
The only real drawback is the location. It isn’t especially convenient to other restaurants or small stores if you want snacks, drinks, or other supplies. I simply stocked up on my way back from El Mirador, which worked well.
Overall, a beautiful property with an exceptional view and a very helpful staff. I would stay here again.

The hotel have 2 entry and both have to be walking, they need better signage for tourists, but beside that, the view is beautiful.
Good cliffside hotel with sweeping views of the town and lake. The staff were incredibly friendly and even helped with luggage down the steep winding steps. The restaurant served fresh, delicious food, and the lakeside path made it easy to walk to town without needing a tuk‑tuk. A convenient and memorable stay.
This hotel was exactly what I needed. It was close to town but far enough away where it felt secluded and peaceful. The view of the lake and the breakfast were spectacular. It is a bit tricky to get to if you’re not familiar with the area, you can show the driver of the Lancha the name of the hotel and they will drop you off right at the dock. Otherwise you’ll have to walk 10 minutes from the town dock. The shower doesn’t get super hot, it gets warm. Overall I’d recommend this place and would stay there again, all the people there were super friendly and helpful as well.
The room was clean, basic, no frills. Breakfast was included and very good, a couple options available. 7:30a-8:30a. The restaurant was very good with a great view, only open until 8:30p. Filtered water was available to refill your water bottle in the restaurant. Be ready for lots of steps! If you have any issue with steps, this is not the hotel for you. Steep and rocky steps to/from the main road. Quite a few steps up from the direction of the dock. Great little shortcut to the dock by going “down/behind” the hotel toward San Juan. Wonderful staff, cozy place, would recommend!

Great views, room was spacious, the restaurant menu was somewhat limited, and an eco-friendly water station was needed.
All in all, it was a good place, and I hope to visit again.
Excellent service from hotel staff. Unfortunately a lot of steps to reach the rooms. Rooms are clean.

Spacious, quiet room with a beautiful view. The hotel restaurant has one of the best settings in San Juan, and we really enjoyed the food. Service was very courteous. Convenient path to San Juan town, plus the hotel has its own pier for boat access. Free kayaks for guests were a great bonus.
Great location. Private dock. Breakfast provided. Friendly staff. Good value. Only small issues: bathroom was very tiny, and no air con or fan in the room, and it was pretty warm. Would stay again
Very friendly and helpful staff in both the restaurant and housekeeping. A special thanks to Rosmir, Ana, Jackline, and Lucas, just to mention a few.
The rooms are quite simple, but they offer good value for money. San Juan is a calm and relaxing area to stay in. Beautiful view over the lake.
It’s great to have breakfast included, very convenient. Although it would be great to see a bit more variety, especially when it comes to the egg options.
