Innsbruck

Innsbruck or Innsbruck is a city in the west of Austria, capital of the state of Tyrol. It is crossed by the Inn River, from which it has its name. The word bruck has its origin in the German-language word Brücke, which means "bridge", which leads the city to call itself "Bridge Inn River". Located in the Inn Valley, the town is in the middle of high mountains, such as the Nordkette (Hafelekar, 2,334 m) to the north, the Patscherkofel (2,246 m) and the Nockspitze (2,403 m) to the south. Innsbruck is a renowned winter sports center and hosted the Winter Olympics in the years 1964 and 1976.
