"We arrived earlier than expected, so even tho our room wasn't ready, they moved us to another room which was ready and it was awesome! We were on a week long drive down the PCH, and this was our next to last stop, and my husbands favorite!!!! We stayed on Nob Hill in SF, on The Queen Mary, stayed in Monterey, and many other great places, but this was his favorite. The 1 bedroom villa was clean, spacious, updated, and had incredible views of the Pacific. The pool area was awesome with plenty of lounge chairs and seats, all with great views. It was an easy walk across the non busy street to the sand and beach and cool waters of the Pacific. The staff was accomodating, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! They have various activities throughout the day, many complimentary . It was an easy walk to a Great Breakfast (The Naked Cafe). The parking garage is safe and convenient. We LOVED this resort and highly recommend!"

"The location is good a lot of restaurants nearby but our room had ants they were literally crawling up on me. There was no rooms available when I arrived so the only one available had a portable AC unit attached to the window. Which they offered a discount but the ants was not good! "

"I had never stayed at this location and carrying the Hyatt name, well I was a little taken aback by how incredibly dated this hotel is.. especially the rooms. The staff is very friendly, hard working and accommodating. It was a pleasant stay and parking was decent. "

"Love the rooms opening up to the grapes and wine view, that's the best part. You should put see through wall in the pool area so people can enjoy the view of the winery from the pool area. It's such a nice view covered by a brick wall. Doesn't make any sense. You can see it standing up, but not when you are laying down in the pool area."

"This is the only Carlsbad hotel on the beach. All the rooms face the ocean, some are fronting the beach. It has comfortable seating spaces around the pool. It is walking distance to dinning and coffee houses. The total ambiance is outstanding."

"Staff was courteous and professional. Looks like they were stretched a bit during the weekend, so some of the service became a little slow. Other comments are: 1) The room service menu was great but not knowing they serve the food in a “DoorDash” takeout manner, it took back the meaning of “room service” at a high end resort. I understand they will be changing this practice in the future (didn’t help us now though) 2) Being an engineer/architect, I found the layout of the villas to be “extremely poor” with a lot of wasted space. The room size was huge but had bad space planning, with the bathroom area unnecessarily large, at the expense of the living space. The furnishings, lighting, etc., were overbearing and not to our taste. Again, not much can be done about this since I expect the other violas to have something similar. All said, we had a good experience but will have second thoughts about coming back to this resort."
