"Reservation for 4 nights. The room was on the 2nd floor facing the street. Very nice view of children's park and lots of trees. Quiet during the week. The breakfast was great- lots of options. "peaceful stay at the house of a local dutch lady who was very helpful and pleasent . the room was very basic and all i really needed as i was out most of the day of my 4 day visit . sezane has a lovley little dog called "pomy" which i hope is well xxx kisses from across the sea pomy . the area was fantasic as it was very close to the museum quarter , but you can only get tickets online to the VAN GOGH museum which i missed ill get there next time "

"Hotel is in a perfect canal side location convenient to the Nine Streets shopping area. The common areas are spacious and welcoming. The restaurant was a lovely space by the interior courtyard garden and the breakfasts were fantastic. The rooms are large enough (by European standards) with a very eclectic layout and decor. If you like design, you will really like the aesthetic of the hotel. And the staff was exceptionally helpful and cheerful. Overall a great experience. "

"The hotel is very nice and the staff are very friendly and provide excellent service. Always very friendly. The rooms, at least the one we stayed in, was not very huge but was big enough that it was very comfortable. No A/C but that was not an issue even in 1st week of august. Nice breeze through the window and the street is extremely quiet. Location is perfect. A few minutes walk from all the designer shops, museums and central area, primarily the section with antique shops and art galleries....

"Really enjoyed our three night stay at Hotel van de Vijsel. It's very convenient located close to the Vondrelpark, the Museumplein and the Leidseplein. The hotel is quiet with an excellent air conditioning system and comfortable bed. It was our wedding anniversary, so I ordered there special package of bubbly, chocolates, balloons and petals. My wife loved the surprise and the bubbly was a gorgeous Spanish Cava and the chocs were delicious. Well done Hotel van de Vijsel!"
