"Lovely hotel nice and clean and modern. Pricey breakfast and parking and a coffee for £4.50 but otherwise pleasant stay"

"From check in which took 40 mins as they couldn’t find our booking, which was paid for in January. To paying for a meal where chips were hard and stale, did tell the member of staff but was told he would tell the kitchen, he pick up the chips and never returned, not would you like me to get you some fresh chips, nothing, reported it to reception, not interested, reported again the next morning and luckily got a decent member of staff Nichola I think her name, she refunded me my money. Breakfast was cold, day two went to make a coffee there were still water left in the kettle, the kettle was very dirty, the shower was dirty and rusty, toilet stained, the worse thing was when we noticed old blood on the pillow, that was the final straw we checked out and booked into the Hilton which to my suprise was the same price a night as we paid for this awful hotel, experia have been amazing sorting this out for us. I have photos of the things I mention here. This hotel needs the health and safety going in to access this."

"Out of the way riverside hotel with some rooms separate from the main building. We were in one of the separate rooms which had parking outside. Twin beds with a narrow bathroom with shower. One of the beds was very noisy - springs creaking at slightest movement and the floorboards above were extremely noisy so we heard every movement in the room above. Bar and food offering was good but they had run out of steak and burgers on Sunday night - the Sunday roast was a good alternative with a choice of meats. Would stay again as close to Donington Park but you need transport to get to it."

"Great location. Clean. Shower floods when used. The Pull out bed is horrendous with no blankets. Way over priced for what it is."

"A mixed bag: positives: house was clean and the key lock and parking was convenient, and food and drink supplies very welcome. Negatives: our booking was changed fairly last minute from “the terrace” to a different house “the Mews” for unknown reasons. (So my review is not for this listing, but for “The Mews”.) Although the house was on the same estate and also had 3 double bedrooms, one of the bedrooms was pretty small, and the original property had the master bedroom on its own top floor , which would have been preferable for us due to our particular family arrangements. Unfortunately the boiler was faulty so there was no hot water for showers in the morning. Although the agent responded promptly to my message and came round to try to address it and offered to extend our stay so it could be fixed and we have hot showers, we were time bound to catch trains so unfortunately it wasn’t a viable option for us."

"The staff and main building were excellent; however, I was in courtyard in an annex out of shot of lovely sales picture. It was an accessible needs room (I assume due to hotels.com booking) but no cheaper than direct booking. The tv was on a shelf at ceiling height so difficult to watch unless standing. The tap fell off but luckily slotted back on and worked with care. The room door was an internal stable type door so had no insulation or sound proofing meaning people accessing a storage room next door seemed to be in the room along with phone conversations. It was also slightly concerning to come back and find a Land Rover in court yard partially blocking room access followed later by listening to engine ticking over . In fairness for what I wanted the hotel served its purpose; however, for slightly more and an uber ride I could have got sound proofing from airfield plus a pool. It all boiled down to a taxit and convenience "
