What was meant to be a 3-week vacation turned into one of the most stressful and heartbreaking experiences of my life. For an entire week, we were forced to stay in a home with a serious roach infestation. Roaches were everywhere—kitchen, bedroom, bathroom. It was impossible to cook or sleep. When I contacted the host, I was sent a photo of a can of Raid from the closet, which showed they already knew about the issue but still rented it to us.
At the time, I was going through a miscarriage and trying to care for my disabled husband. I was emotionally and physically exhausted, grieving, and still had to deal with this unsanitary and unsafe environment. They told me they’d move us, so I packed everything, but when we arrived, I learned the new apartment was on the second floor—completely inaccessible for my husband. So I had to unpack everything and return to the infested home.
They didn’t move us until a full week later. I asked the owner for a partial refund for that first week, but he refused. Then, in the final week of our stay, the refrigerator broke, and all of our food went bad. It wasn’t fixed in time, and again, no apology or effort to make it right.
There was zero compassion, zero responsibility. This experience was emotionally devastating, and I would never recommend this property to anyone.
