We’ve traveled the entire country and seen the most amazing places but the Ambelona Retreat is in its a class of its own. "Great place with amazing views! Elena, the owner, was lovely but doesn't speak English. We managed with a few words each, a bit of sign language and a lot of Google translate. Rooms are perhaps unusual in decor but very comfortable and lots of choice for breakfast - particularly good omelette cooked freshly by Elena. Good tavernas within walking distance. Fabulous walking with the menalon trail. Very quiet and peaceful. And did I mention the views!"

"Hotel is tired and outdated. Needs maintenence as chipped walls, frayed carpets, bad paint job. Stick in the 90's. Breakfast is fair but nothing to remember. "
