Wonderful stay! I was a solo traveler staying in hakuba for the snowboarding and I met new friends during my stay at this hotel! Theres a nice community lounge where people get warm and share stories about their day! Its also a 13min walk from Skyline Gondola and has many bars, restaurants, and food truck along the way!
I loved my stay! The hotel is in a prime location - walkable to happo one mountain and to the happo bus terminal to take the shuttle to other mountains. The breakfast was a little pricey but delish buffet options. There are awesome restaurants in the area as well that you can walk to. I loved that there was a heated storage room for your snow gear. I needed it after a few days of rainy wet conditions. Everything was dry and ready to go the next day. The rooms were clean and simple. I loved the Japanese style room. There’s a traditional public shower/bathing area with nice shampoo and conditioner and an onsen onsite. I loved to go in the onsen every night after a long day on the mountain. Also the owner is so kind.
The owner came and picked us up from the bus terminal! He spoke very good English and was very warm and friendly! He then dropped us back at the bus terminal at the end of the trip.
Our room had a shared bathroom, which I didn’t realise would be the shared showers in the onsen (no booths or privacy) so that might not be for everyone when booking a room with shared bathroom.
But apart from the showers, this place was great! It’s a little old and dated but warm and friendly and the location is so good!
We could see our favourite runs at Happo One from the front door. Very close to the main bus terminal.
I would definitely stay here again!

Very helpful owner who spoke good English and offered to pick me up from the station even though I arrived at quarter to ten pm. The room not in absolutely mint condition but clean and comfortable. The onsen was not exceptional but enjoyable. The breakfast buffet provided a wide range of choices for a hotel of this size. Unfortunately, the restaurant was reservations only when I had hoped to have dinner on my second night.
Staff were super helpful, offering free shuttle service whenever they saw us on our way out. The Onsen was amazing, although the 900 yen fee to use it caught me off guard, although 100% worth it.
It's great if you're on a budget, as it is still a very short (3-5 minute) walk to all the restaurants and the main bus stop, but not so close that prices are super steep.
We turned up to hotel Ouguiya Hakuba and it turns out it is connected to the ryokan via an underground passage. Hotel staff very friendly, and will attempt to assist in anyway possible. No showers close to the ryokan. You must walk about 250 meters up and down stairs to the onsen room which has showers there with other hotel guests. The onsen is incredible and most of the time we had it all to ourselves. you can use the large breakfast room owned by the hotel for about 1000¥. Very good fun, but be prepared to sleep on a futon, in an old traditional backpacker style private rooms, enjoying onsen and kimono wearing!

Great location!! Close to the centre of town
Located of the Hakuba Hotel (its even connected to it via tunnel) its in a fantastic location. Close to shops and bars and only a short walk from Happo bus terminal. I strongly recommend a stay even if its just for the onson!! Haha enjoy
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ougiya Ryokan! The staff were so friendly and helpful, the location was central to all our needs......Gondola, ski shuttle, bus terminal, restaurants, Lawsons. The breakfast was delicious and the Onsen so relaxing. I wish i could keep this place our secret!
The hotel was a bit old but maintained as well as I believe possible! Our booking was a last minute decision due to a previous booked elsewhere failing due to lack of transport to its location. Ougiya Ryokan was super easy to find as it was only 300m from Happo One bus Depo. The staff were super helpful and accomodating. The morning breakfast was always a well presented delicious buffet. The location to the ski slopes was a bit of a hike if walking but late in our stay we discovered shuttle buses are very close and frequent. The last day was particularly snowy and we hadn't been able to organise a taxi to the bus depo(deep snow would have made walking very difficult). The staff unexpectedly arranged to personally drop us too the bus which was awesome! A great all round experience, including the Onsen;) lol

Good location, good price, good value.
It's a relative old hotel. The facilities are basic but sufficient. Rooms are good size and clean. For what they charge, It think it is a very good value. It is convenient located within 5 mins walk to the Happo bus terminal, which connect you to any ski resort in Hakuba.
I enjoyed my stay in the Japanese Tatami Room. Clean room, enough space for two ppl. The hot spring was nice after skiing. The breakfast buffet was good as well. I would stay here again.

Hakuba in the summer
I have been to Hakuba 5 times for skiing, this was the first summer trip. I rented a mountain bike and had a good adventure. The hotel was in a good location for that. The bike rental place was 100 meters away from the hotel
