"We chose Riu San Francisco due to the location near to the pick-up/drop-off for planned tours and that worked very well. The room was clean and housekeeping kept it clean during our 5-night stay. The rooms were a bit noisy and not well insulated for sound. The touristy neighborhood around the hotel was dirty…. not the fault of Riu because their areas were very clean, but once you leave the hotel, not so much. The very best part of our stay was the breakfast buffet that we enjoyed every morning!...

"No closet to hang clothes. Need instructions on how to use the tv. Had 2 remotes and no explanation as to what to do with them. Manage to turn it on but difficulty in finding a channel. Eventually just turned it off. Rooms had wooden floors so can hear the occupant next door move the desk chair. Load scraping noise across the floor each time they moved. "We enjoyed our stay. Comfortable bed. Nice size room. Shower had excellent water pressure and was always hot. Walls a little thin so we could hear people in room next to us. Close to wharf which was great. Only issue with location was that it gets really loud at the wharf with cars driving real slow blasting music late into the night."

"The staff has a good customer service skills like Mona, Jennifer, & the other pilipino lady with glasses. They always got people cleaning, making sure the property is clean. When I use to order foods for delivery, they always call me & let me know that my orders arrived. Even if there were times there were spiders & WiFi isn't excellent, I like this property. There are cats around there which is ok because I love cats & it's by the water as well I just like the location because it's by the water...

"Fan in bathroom wouldn’t turn off. Tv remote wouldn’t work and had to have tech come up and fix signal cord, thought we would have nice dinner in your restaurant not knowing it was closed on sundays which seems very strange for a hotel restaurant."

"Lovely and clean and quiet rooms. It is only 7-8 min away from the airport, you don’t hear any noise or sound from the planes.
The staff at the front were lovely and so kind and sweet, both during the check in and check out.

"I’ll start by saying The Lodge operates best when Leveena is working the front desk. I hope I spelled her name correctly. She took amazing care of my needs as I was recently out of a major surgery and was not able to walk.
On her days off, The Lodge seemed understaffed, and certain things did not work smoothly, starting with trying to reach the front desk. One night it took nearly two hours for someone to be available to bring me ice.
The restaurant next door suffered through similar staffing...

"Beautiful historic, loved its charm and location to the park across the street.
Older hotel, so it did not have air-conditioning. During our trip it was pretty overcast and chilly, but our bedroom got very hot during the night. We had to use multiple portable fans.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We got the one bedroom suite, perfect amount of room for our family of four."

"Great location. Room was clean, however, the carpets ( very much so), upholstered furniture cushions REALLY need cleaning.
Bathrooms could be cleaned more than only once a day.
Other guests were friendly.
Very funky historical building, so interesting in that regard.
The hallways were crowded with old furniture and very dusty and dirty. For safety and ease of mobility, those hallways should be open and clear.
