"We had the most amazing time at Coles Bay Vacation Retreat! They are the most lovely couple who care so much about their guests experience. We arrived in the wee hours of the morning on a late flight and they were so accommodating, meeting us on the driveway to give us a tour of our place. They were also up in the morning preparing the most delicious breakfast of our choosing from a wonderful selection of menu items. They even catered to my gluten free needs! It was a quiet comfortable stay and...

"The Cottage and Castle is absolutely charming, beautifully decorated and situated in a lovely neighborhood of colourfully painted houses and As well it is anIt’s a real gem. However as we returned after an evening out the stench in the air from a soil, composting, wastewater and recycling treatment plant was overwhelming. I there is a solution to this as Chemainus is a charming town and the Cottage and Castle was exceptional! "

"This was potentially the worst hotel stay I've ever had. I've never stayed in a room with such poor sound proofing before and sleeping was miserable. You could hear EVERY time someone opened their door. It didn't help that the bar had karaoke playing super loudly too on Friday and Saturday night. You could hear everything. The guy working at the front desk was lovely but there's only so much you can do to block the noise. It was hard to fall asleep before 1am and I was woken up both mornings...

"Oh boy...I greatly dislike writing negative reviews. While Chemainus is adorable, the location is fantastic and the exterior is a dream...this aint it. Mouldy drapes, a number of amenities were broken (electric fireplace, mouldy fridge), no wifi, questionably clean bedsheets. And (I have photos as proof) a white substance residue left on the counter next to the bed. I will say that the indoor jet tub was amazing! I swear I heard a cough below us at one point and noticed a little door that looked...

"What a nice surprise! We stayed at the Motel 6 because it was affordable and close to the airport. The motel is a bit dated on the outside and a very typical two storey motel but the room we had was extremely clean and well kept. The bedding was new and the beds were comfortable. The sound of traffic on the highway was pretty constant but nothing my ear plugs couldn’t handle. Check in was slick and I’d stay there again. I recommend this place as a nice and clean place to stay if you want...
