"This is a very posh, small (24 room) 5* hotel, located right in the center of the small town of Banska Stiavnica. "Let's start with the positives. The reception desk and café staff, were incredibly helpful and kind. The room was clean. The dining space was updated and clean and the staff did their best. The grounds were well kept. The negative were the other staff. No one spoke English and did not attempt to communicate in any other language, verbal or non-verbal. Listing a property on Expedia should include mention that English is not widely spoken when appropriate. Except for the cave steam bath, there...

Staff very helpful, especially as we were travelling with a toddler- nothing was too much trouble. Loved the home made jam at breakfast. We would definitely return. Thank you for your hospitality."
