"The hotel was awesome! Very nice and modern rooms. One complaint I have (which is not too bad) is the staff in the breakfast buffet…you barely had your sugar out in your coffee and they were there cleaning the tables…I stayed at the hotel for 3 breakfasts and on average a wait staff came to my table 5 times before I was finished…I found that to be very annoying."

"Hotel is pretty from the outside, but dated and grimy in the rooms themselves. They offered no extras as far as bottled water in the rooms, breakfast was extra. The hotel is honestly just in a prime location for walking to major attractions. Not a great hotel for kids - its literally a place to lay your head. I stayed in another hotel just days later in another province; the hotel was 1/4 the price (no exaggeration) and all extras were included, and this hotel was recently renovated."

"It was convenient walking distance to our venue at Massey Hall, and we found an awesome restaurant within a few blocks. It was not a great night for sleeping because of the proximity to the hospital. You heard ambulance sirens a lot."

"Generously sized room, wonderfully deep tub, and a great location but a decent amount of noise due to renovations. That being said, the renos are needed as the paint was cracked or peeling in several places. Overall: one of the better spots in central Toronto to stay (unless you have a car, parking there is $40 a day)"

"The breakfast had a wide variety of items. Loved that there was always a plant based protein like lentils or chickpeas and plant based milk. The staff were quite friendly and quick to address any issues raised. The rooms we clean enough though our room had sticky floors for the entire stay we were there for 6 nights and even with the daily room clean the floors constantly sticky. The airport shuttle was as advertised only on the hour though which can be tricky but it was easy enough to use. The property is still new and in good condition. This hotel is in a corporate part of town so I would think there would be many business travellers like myself. It would be helpful to have a quiet area for guests to work that isn’t in the room. All common areas have loud background music making them not the best for taking meetings and working. "

"The room at the Fairmont Royal York is dated and needs a major renovation. The bed also needs replacement and the bathroom is very dated for the price that is being charged for this room. Time to invest. "
