It was awfully packed over the full moon weekend (would not recommend visiting during this period)! This pavilion-like structure at the front Paththirippuwa, or Octagon. It is a symbol of identity in Kandyan Architecture. In the olden days, the king would stand there to address his citizens who were gathered in front of him. The golden roof behind stands over the Buddha tooth relic that this temple is famous for. Good clean property with decent air con, and very helpful staff. Great location in Kandy close to main attractions. Quality of hotel quite basic but good given the budget price, didn’t have any food so can’t comment on this. Would go back again especially if wanting a more budget option in Kandy.

the stay was totally great, very clean and quiet. but one thing, i couldn’t get hot shower in my room. It wasn’t cold water, but neither hot water.

This hotel is well situated in the city but is Spartan in the extreme. Literally one tiny bar of soap. Tired and damaged fittings and soft coverings. Wifi dial-up speeds.

Kleinschalig, net hotel in Kandy

Na het verschonen van het bedlinnen omdat het op de eerste keer niet schoon was, was het een heel prima hotel. Medewerkers zijn erg vriendelijk, ontbijt is prima (je krijgt veel te veel, met heel veel variatie) en de kamer is klein (voor Aziatische begrippen), maar wel prima. De omgeving van het hotel is lekker druk, maar voelde voor ons zeker veilig aan.

年越しに1泊だけ、宿泊しました。 仏歯寺近くにあり、周りにはレストランもいくつかありました。 ホテル内はとても清潔で過ごしやすかったです。 スタッフの方はいろいろ話しかけてくださり、朝食もオムレツを焼いてくれて、美味しくいただきました。 とても快適に過ごせました。

入口、レセプションの場所が少々わかりにくいと思いました。 広さは十分です。キャンディの中心部よりやや外れた所にありますが、だいたいの店は徒歩圏内にあります。2日目の夜テレビかケーブルの故障でテレビが見られませんでした。ホテルの人の対応は親切です。

Service minded staff, great breakfast

Perfect place to stay while in Kandy for two nights. We’re a couple from Sweden staying in Kandy for a couple of nights before heading to Ella. Ceyloni staff were very friendly and service minded which made our stay great. Breakfast was also great with local dishes as well as omelette, fruits etc. Good sized rooms (normal) with a balcony. And good restaurants within 1-5 minutes walking. All in all there’s nothing at all to complain about.

A good value hotel; clean and modern within the city centre yet quiet within the rooms. The staff were exceptional and very polite. On the last day they offered us complimentary breakfast as we had booked 3 nights with them, which was a credit to how kind Sri Lankan people are.

Very good value

Very good value for money. English is spoken. Clean and new room, air conditioning working very well. Helpful staff, the younger guy helped us orginise the taxi to next destination and suggested couple of good stops on the way and the best driver we had during our 2-week trip in Sri Lanka. The neighbourhood is nothing special, but is central enough and therefore close to everything important. I would happily go back.
